Sir, in all honesty, had this missile landed on a pre-programmed trajectory on a Pakistani air base, or say a hospital or school. You do realize that PAF would have undertaken a retaliatory strike, accident or not?
There's every reason for Pakistani strategic community to put a question mark...
I am guessing they had to put pressure on India to come out clean, the DGMOs might not have spoken but some one did call in, else I just do not see PAF not putting out a retaliatory strike. There was little for us to go on, unless Indians explained that this was an accident.
I’m guessing after reading reports from both ends, we can somewhat make a timeline of events?
1. PAF detects launch and tracks the missile coming into Pak.
2. There’s no time to bring it down, as such, or a resource isn’t available. Or due to civilian airliners in general vicinity of the...
TBH,
If Pakistan actually takes on face value, all that's being said; 1. Accidental launch. 2. Accidentally veered towards Pakistan. 3. Self-destruct failure. 4. Command and control failure.. then the reality on the Indian side is even scarier than what we anticipate.
At this rate, we'd be...
I still find it difficult to believe that this was a rogue launch, albeit it’d help if Pakistan played it like that. I know India would have if the roles were reversed today.
If this was a rogue launch, even if we take it as that, why not send the missile after a HVT or an airbase. If someone...
All said and done and I know this is strictly conspiracy theory domain but I am not buying the accidental launch excuse.
1. The missile has a proper firing procedure. It doesn’t just take off, without pre-approved guidance input.
2. The missile flight path, was stable. It entered Pakistan...
So, just got clarified that Indians (or Pakistanis) do not need to issue a NOTAM if the system was fired within a declared 'military operating area'. This would point to a batch trial (hence the color, i.e. no check pattern) launch, 'if' this was not a deliberate hit.
To be very fair to them, after listening to the presser twice. They did press on the fact that it was a missile 'and' that it was unarmed. They are not naming the system, ofc, so as to not create pressure on themselves to respond (since not too long ago in Feb, 2019 - Pakistan took out Shaheen 2...
Just watched the ISPR presser again, it's fairly clear that Army / Air Force have chalked this up as a test / trial gone awry, without further explanation and fairly adamant that the missile was unarmed. DG ISPR also specifically mentioned to not conflate this incident with the one on Feb 26th...
The Indian Charge d’Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office to convey Pakistan’s strong protest over the unprovoked violation of its airspace by an Indian ‘supersonic flying object’ which entered from ‘Suratgarh’ India at 1843 hrs (PST) on 9 March & fell near Mian Chunnu.
The ‘supersonic...
I guess if the other side continues to stay quiet and does not offer a response, then our response will begin, as this will be taken as a deliberate hit and not an accident. A map was put out, timings were shared so responsibility was put on India publicly. There's not much to backdown from now.
