MiG-29s were really cheap buys for IAF - incomplete airframes from ages ago. BAF should have gone for this but BAF is fast becoming a museum air force.
Remember that the Hawkeyes were designed with Mechanical pulse doppler arrays. Tech has moved along since then. Take a look at the Israeli AWACs designs. Pointy looks cool, but more than cool is at play - aerodynamic simplicity which can be beneficial particularly for cross winds on carrier...
Did a lot of research about these scopes - pretty expensive equipment to equip any decent number of soldiers with them. Much cheaper Chinese scopes of varying quality are available. I believe @PanzerKiel has some experience with these as he had one on his Type-56 II that he modified, perhaps he...
This is a good post. However, I feel copying the Hawkeye layout is not the best way to go. Perhaps a side array like the Israelis use would be aerodynamically easier to handle for an aircraft carrier design.
HIT isn't mass producing any product. Mass production is something else - our culture hasn't tasted it yet. We don't know or appreciate what it is. Bit like how our understanding and organization culture is slowly changing from the experience of the nuclear program and JF-17 program (neither of...
Pakistan hasn't yet tasted the sweet fruit of mass producing a military vehicle. If they did, it could transform Pakistan armed forces and help it meet the challenges a lot better.
Pakistan's defense budget is too small. It should be increased. Conscription of at least 100,000 soldiers should also help get more bang for the buck, and help Pakistani young citizens to gain independence and discipline.
You made total sense with this post, thanks. Not sure why public funds are being used to build a Hindu temple. Let hindus build their temples with their own private funds. Using the funds taken from Muslims to build a temple is very bad taste.
The problem with this kind of design from an aerodynamic point of view would be the excessive supersonic drag from the bulging waist. This has serious area ruling problems with it. not that this design is real but an interesting concept nonetheless.
I think Gripen, JF-17, F-16, Mirage-2000 all have remained remarkably similar to their first production models so far. The Super Hornet was actually a political move to show Congress "its an upgrade of the same 'ol" to get funding after the end of the Cold War.
In reality, the Super Hornet is...
I meant heliborne troops by airborne. Drone, artillery > heliborne assault. Troops from transport aircraft are possible if they can use some kind of jet pack to retain landing accuracy.
In the event of avalanches and otherwise generally, it will be hard for the Indians to reinforce their...
Just read the amendments and they will do nothing to change the fundamental cause of failure - management of HIT. This is another joke and will give them an excuse to fail for the next decade saying "look we have an amendment, we will now succeed, all we need is time".
