Featured Russia would be developing upgraded engines for Pakistan's JF-17 fighters

I think block 3 will be last major change before Azm. Block IV will probably be to Block III what Block II was to Block I.

62 JF-17 Block 3 to be ordered. Interesting info.

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

Never say never. Stranger things have happened. I'm certain that if F-35s come to the ME (outside Israel), the first cut will be the UAE. Sure, Egypt would rather sell to India, but India doesn't want F-16s let alone Block 52s. And they did just sell Horus Mirages. If that can happen, this can...

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

Bholari is a mystery. I'm sure PAF, being the professionals they are, realize partnership with the US is about to end, so making a best attempt to get a hold of the aircraft that they love the most. That is most likely. Hope they succeed, even if it is EDA or politically managed somehow by Trump...

Featured Project Azm: Pakistan's Ambitious Quest to Develop 5th Generation Military Technologies.

An interesting post by messiach I stumbled across, in addition to the last one I posted that supports the assertion Azm is an evolution from the JF-17 - meaning new airframe with single engine, rather than something radically different (like a twin engined delta canard)

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Well, the main assembly plant is in Kamra. In batch production, you basically start with putting subassemblies together in one place - there is no assembly line like a car factory. This means that the machines are being built - surely, if the aircraft wasn't ready, or if there was a COVID scare...

F**k the American flag’: WATCH BLM protesters stomp on & BURN US flag outside White House (VIDEO)

What we are seeing for the first time is that American civil society is disintegrating. Their history - their heritage, is now no more. This is the beginning of the end of the US empire.

Featured Pakistan Navy Type 054AP Frigates - Update, News & Discussion

Perhaps the Chinese boats can get Chinese helicopters. And PN being far sighted, could go with the Turkish 625 and eventually get a helicopter at a more decent price. I think the AW-101s are a done deal though. Only way they could be priced reasonably if they are second hand from Italian navy...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Block 3 is probably not as incremental as we are led to believe. Here is why I think so: 1. JF-17 was initially a stable design. Block III is likely to be an unstable design (like the F-16). This means thre will be basically a completely new FCS. 2. AESA radar is likely to be immature and...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

They were jammed to an extent that they ran away from the fight. To add insult to injury, they were jammed by JF-17s.

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Good points. In the end, each aircraft will have to fight from its own advantage. M-2000 design remains a masterpiece of aeronautical engineering. If one were flying it, they would choose to stay high and fast, and lob Meteors. Then, using superior ITR, get first shot with WVR MICA...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

I'm much less bothered about max thrust. I'm interested in the abysmal and ludicriously outdated military power of the RD-93 series. I don't think that can be fixed without a complete redesign.

    22 Months of PTI Govt

It has not been implemented, they say they will implement it from a date in the future, in 2021 somewhere. I also have a bridge to sell you if you are interested... FYI I was in the PTI think tank back in 2012 and one of the people that pushed the single curriculum forward. My name ended up...

Lebanon to sell outdated aircraft as Air Force eyes new trainers

Perfect. This is what is needed but PAF doesn't have people who understands business so it will be hard for them to imagine such a solution. PAF, what makes them and breaks them is that they are fighter jocks, they are focused on that and that alone. Thinking about the business angle will be...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Greater drag will impact you in all parameters. Whether maneuvering or not, to greater or lesser extent. Adding load is air frame drag + load drag. Which makes the point moot. The point I concede is gaining energy quickly, which is also a function of spool up time. You could have an engine...

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Mirage 2000 has a lot less drag, is a far more aerodynamically less draggy design. It will always have an advantage against the JF-17 because of that, even if you did increase thrust. The other side of the equation for thrust is drag.
