Secondly, since you don't know me much you assumed that i believe Pakistan to be a citadel of Islam, which is incorrect. We were supposed to be a modern Islamic country where equality was going to be the law of the land. Neither do i believe that Muslims or Islam is in danger. I wish to see a Pakistan where everyone is equal and there remains no scope of descrimination based on caste and creed.

Lastly, C Fair is a hit in India because increasingly, Indians think that Pakistan is the only evil in the world and want nothing less than total annihilation of the country. She has been lying about stuff and whenever anyone of us tried to engage her, she blocked us calling us to be agents of ISI. I have been blocked by her precisely because one of her story was based on lies and i pointed towards inaccuracies.

Vapnope - thanks for your messages. However - India / Indians do not want total annihilation of pak. However, Mumbai attacks (and parliament attacks) have hardened opinions. You need to visit & live in India. You will understand better.
J

Indians (myself included) do not believe in two nation theory (theory part). But, the existence of pak is very well accepted. There will be no attempt to change that reality. Live & let live.
J
jk007
When I look at myself, I believe that no one can convince others.

Please do your own research on India.

BTW- I read extensively about pak for 8 long years.

PS: As I get older, I am believing (gradually) in two nation theory....
J

One thing is for sure - peace in pak is directly linked to peace in Afghanistan.

I do believe pak has missed lots of great opportunities to develop themselves. Every ally of america have developed greatly (s.korea, Japan etc). Only exception is pak.

I believe the single minded focus on being national security state is the reason.

I have many friends in India and when i say friends i mean it and most of them are Hindus and Sikhs.
I have been reading Indian authors as well. I have read Gandhi Ji, I have read Kuldip Nayyar and I have read Jaswant Singh just to name a few.

I have been reading Indian articles and have interacted with Indians in my academic and professional career. The animosity is real and the way Indians are hurting common Pakistanis is still not being talked about by anyone in Pakistan.
J
jk007
a) It is impossible for Pakistanis to understand India or Indians. Let's leave it at that.
b) I am not being rude or anything like that. Why did you call Gandhi as "Gandhi ji", why not jaswant singh ji? Kuldip nayyar ji?
J
jk007
C) where did you read about Gandhi? Is he mentioned in pak text books?

D) if I may ask - are you professor?
Vapnope
Vapnope
No, not a professor.
I have read Gandhi Ji's autobiography and i have read other authors' books to know more about their POV and history from the other side.

Going by your logic, it is impossible for Indians to understand Pakistan and Pakistanis.
J
jk007
Nope, I understand Pakistan & Pakistanis (smiling)....

Please answer my question-b. Why "Gandhi ji", and why not " jaswanth singh ji" & "kuldip nayar ji"?

Gandhi ji was a politician of a tall stature and i respect him for some of his work. I have respect for Kuldip Nayyar and Jaswant Singh as well.

Just like you claim to understand Pakistan and Pakistanis, at least have the courtesy to allow the same right to Pakistanis vis a vis India.

I am getting a feeling that some / most of your opinions are in line with pak's majority narrative. Maybe, I am wrong as I never met you in person or held detailed discussions.
J
jk007
Correction - mostly* in-line
J
jk007
However, I did read lot of your posts. Nothing wrong in the opinions you hold (it is ok). I am not judging either.
