Bengaluru: The biggest breaking news of #AeroIndia2017 is out. For the first time in the history of the biennial air show, a five-member delegation from the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) will be at Air Force Station Yelahanka.

A Ministry of Defence official confirmed to Mathrubhumi that the Chinese Embassy might add two more members to the team.

“We can now confirm the PLAAF participation. This is part of the ‘pro-active’ stand taken by the Government of India,” says the official.

PLAAF is the air warfare wing of the People's Liberation Army, the armed forces of the People's Republic of China.

The members of the five-member delegation cleared include Maj Gen Wang Qiang, Sr Col Gao Zhikuan, Col Huang Xinyang, Lt Col Jiang Jiaji and Maj Li Yiu.

“The Chinese Embassy has requested for two more names to be added and it is under consideration,” says the official.

With PLAAF set to ‘land’ at AFS Yelahanka, the social media is already abuzz with ‘theories’ on China’s likely interest at the show.

I'll be damned.
Welcome PLAAF. :china:

We Should invite PAF too. What's wrong if PAF comes and perform at Aero India 2017. A healthy competition will bring more professionalism in to our arm forces and moreover it will give us opportunity to develop counter strategy.
