Air Commodore Najeeb Siddiqui SI (M) (Retd), an Avionics graduate from PAF College of Aeronautical Engineering. Soon after my commissioning in 1981, I was selected for the induction and training of SA-II SAM. I participated in setting up of missile operation and maintenance facilities. Then I handled the induction of Mistral SHORAD System and its training for PAF and Pak Navy.
This was followed by Exocet AM-39 missile system induction and undertaking the depot level maintenance of the missile and its firing installations.
Later I joined the R&D team at Precision Engineering Complex (PEC), PIAC and participated in R&D work.
Subsequently, as the Director missiles at the Air Headquarters, I undertook induction of SPADA LOMAD System and established its depot level maintenance facilities at PAF.
Later on I was deployed at the Air Weapons Complex, where I participated in R&D work and indigenous production of weapons for PAF. Subsequently I was appointed as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Weapons Engineering) at the Air Headquarters where I worked till my retirement in December, 2012. I have done Exocet missiles maintenance course from France and the aircraft ejection seats course from Martin Baker aircraft company UK. I have also done some short courses and training abroad while serving in PAF.
After the retirement from PAF in 2013, I was inducted on contract at NESCOM. I worked on R&D projects as Director Smart System Programmes till July, 2021. I have recently established an Engineering firm “Emerging Systems Engineering” with a view to assist Defence industry in acquiring the emerging technologies and the ToT.
