The M249 is commaonaly known as SAW(SQAUD AUTOMATIC WEAPON).The main theme is to equipe a section size force with two of these replaceing with the rifles,these are used as a LMG,it can be fed by belts or M-16 mags,5.56mm.
it is used all over the world as a LMG by many armed forces(UK,US,NATO,SAUDI,JORDON,AUSTRALIA)
