The most recent major confrontation was in 2006, when Israel sent ground troops across the border and launched air strikes after two Israeli soldiers were killed and three were kidnapped. Around 1,000 Lebanese were killed in the violence.

Lebanon bans the purchase of Israeli products and its citizens are not allowed to travel there.

"We refuse to normalize relations with an enemy state," said Rania Masri, a member of the Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel-Lebanon. "We're not talking about a political disagreement, were talking about resistance against occupation."

Not everyone agrees. A petition titled "Release Wonder Woman in Lebanon" was also circulating on Thursday.

"Gal Gadot may be an Israeli, but we want to watch a movie about the amazing character of Wonder Woman," it said.

It's not the first time that Lebanon has debated whether to screen Gadot's films.

Last year, there was a movement to boycott "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice", but the film was eventually shown.

"Wonder Woman" was produced by Warner Bros., which is owned by CNN parent company Time Warner. Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Thursday.

Oh, This is just stupid.

The 7th paragraph is the most important in the article.

People will watch the movie just because it's "banned" in theaters doesn't mean someone can't steam online.

"What are you gonna do turn off the internet?"

LOL who would waste their time watching this garbage anyway?

You are mistaken about that. Apart from some oil rich Arab leaders the Arab people generally aren't very fond of Israeli behavior towards the Palestinians.

It doesn't matter what Arab leaders or people are fond of. Until they start to uninstall software & hardware off their gold plated iPhone 9s it's no different than watching a 2 hour 21 minute movie where the actress will probably receive a couple $million.

The stalwart Arab leaders & people provide ten fold that with all the imports they receive and use.

A good step by lebnon they ban our products we will block theirs

Yeah but that way the actress isn't going to earn any money from those in Lebanon who watch it.

The attacked nation (Lebanon) doesn't want to screen movie because its lead actress is an active supporter of attacker (IDF)

Nothing too hard to understand here.

I've heard she openly support Israel army and building homes by displacing Palestinians.

Don't confuse the Arab and Israeli conflict with gold plated iPhones, software and the internet. They are indeed two separate matters.

I don't see any issues with supporting a ban against a person who openly supports Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territory.

It is funny though how quick some non-Arabs are to judge the decision taken by an Arab nation. Ready to hand out their irrelevant jibes about the internet and CPUs designed in Israel. LOL like as if this has any relevance to the ban.

The irony is that the whole idea behind the movie itself is ludicrous to say the least. The whole feminist idea taken to a whole new extreme.

If we get into
