Al Jazeera footage shows tense situation in Istanbul, special forces and security in combat motions, with help from civilians getting them riot shields. Ambulances also near them, it seems minor clashes may be taking place.

CNN changed the subject, LOL.

Clearly Western orchestrated and total embarrassment.

A fvcking false flag operation, who plans a coupe and does it like amatures?
First you take out all of the government, did this happen?
This is instigated by Erdogan to get some votes he lost because of his ridiculous policies regarding the South East(PKK) and foreign affairs.
Unreal bs,but my people as Always will buy this and make him a fvcking hero.
We deserve this guy.
It was indeed amateur. For a coup, first you find and arrest head of government, shut down all internet, phones, and media, then reinstate a new government, this one was a pretty amateur attempt.

But whether this was an inside job by Erdogan, would he go that far? I mean, many will be tried and punished for this, who accepts that for an inside job?

Unbelievable

I dun believe in European media reports anymore. How could you tell its a building in Turkey and not in Syria or somewhere else.

Turk Fellas, When you start feeling bad about your PM or President, please have a look at ours. They are way better than ours :pakistan::pakistan:Stay strong and united. :enjoy::enjoy:

Time to go to sleep.

Ok, we will see if the coup failed or prevail the coming hours will tell us the truth.

more like a mutiny. a few senior officers, as well as the chief of army were detained by the coup leaders, but other military leaders and the police fought back. The coup pretty quick fell apart.

So the uprising has already been quelled? That was fast.

According to the Istanbul governor, the military coup attempt has been suppressed.
The commander of Istanbul's 3rd Corps has reportedly issued a televised order for all troops to return to barracks.

Turkey's National Intelligence Organization also claims that the coup attempt has failed. An adviser for the organization, Nuh Yilmaz, announced that General Staff Hulusi Akar, who was being held by the military, has been released.

State television channel TRT reports that four soldiers have been arrested for the coup attempt, including one who was high-ranked.

Several servicemen have been injured and killed, according to Special Forces Command commander Major General Zekai Aksakalli.

Anadolu news agency reported earlier that 17 police officers were killed during clashes.

"A small number of servicemen supported the coup. We shall take the situation under control shortly. There are deceased and injured among our servicemen," he said as part of an NTV broadcast.

The Alliance for Shared Values (AfSV), a non-profit group linked to Turkish opposition cleric Fethullah Gulen, issued a statement condemning the attempt.
We condemn any military intervention in [the] domestic politics of Turkey," the statement reads.
