Samsung has announced not one but two new phablets under its flagship Galaxy Note series with the new Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge. Blending an evolved S Pen with better viewing experience, the Galaxy Note 4 has a number of new features. TOI Tech brings you 10 key things at a glance:

1. Galaxy Note 4's 5.7-inch quad HD (2560x1440) Super AMOLED display reproduces clearer and more vivid images with deep contrast, better viewing angles, and response times as fast as a millionth of a second, providing an enhanced viewing experience.

2. Multi Window feature is able to maximize the user's experience offering easier multi-tasking. Users can choose how they access applications with full, split or pop-up screens, and change the size and positioning of apps on the screen with one swipe.

3. Galaxy Note 4 also sports an advanced camera system which, according to Samsung, is able to reproduce brighter and clearer images. The device is equipped with a 16MP rear camera featuring a Smart Optical Image Stabilizer that counter-balances camera shake and automatically extends exposure time in dark settings, as per Samsung. In addition, a 3.7MP front-facing camera with f1.9 offers a default 90 degree shooting angle and up to 120degree wide angle so users can take group selfies with friends.

4. Galaxy Note 4's Fast Charging and Ultra Power Saving Mode ensures faster charging and users will have battery juice much longer. The phone can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes.

5. Galaxy Note 4 has multiple microphones and an improved speaker phone for better noise cancellation in loud environments. A built-in Voice Recorder offers eight different directional voice tagging and a selective playback capability that allows users to isolate and listen to specific voices in a group conversation.

6. Galaxy Note 4 also offers an improved Fingerprint Scanner to secure personal data, and what Samsung claims is the world's first UV sensor in a mobile device.

7. Samsung says the Galaxy Note 4's S Pen has been enhanced to serve as the primary tool that users go to for common, everyday mobile device use. This new S Pen offers a much more authentic pen experience, with a more natural brush effect that emulates writing on paper with a fountain or calligraphy pen, as per the South Korean giant.

8. The S Pen also gets a more user-friendly Air Command functionality along with other features such as Action Memo, Screen Write, Image Clip and Smart Select that allow users to create and collect content with ease, as per Samsung. A new Smart Select feature enables users to piece together content from different origins and share it easily.

9. Galaxy Note 4 also provides users with multiple note-taking methods integrated with Samsung's S Note application that allows everyday tasks to get done faster. In addition to typing and writing, the Snap Note feature allows users to take a picture of their notes on a paper or a classroom board, and then convert to the S Note. They can also further unleash their creativity by jotting down their thoughts quickly with the Voice Memo.

10. Galaxy Note 4 introduces a new Galaxy design. The device features a premium metal frame with fluid curvature that blends with the device display. Its 2.5D glass screen, inherited from Galaxy S3 offers extra protection. A soft-textured back cover makes it easy to control with one hand.

This is as predicted.
I am glad!!

2. Multi Window feature is able to maximize the user's experience offering easier multi-tasking. Users can choose how they access applications with full, split or pop-up screens, and change the size and positioning of apps on the screen with one swipe.
Multi window feature was already available on iphone with the new iOS updates.

16Mp was also predicted. But i like the shake control feature,i hope it works properly.

In addition, a 3.7MP front-facing camera with f1.9 offers a default 90 degree shooting angle and up to 120degree wide angle so users can take group selfies with friends.
The front camera of all the mobiles suck.
But then introducing 120degree wide angle for grp selfies is refreshing. :D

A built-in Voice Recorder offers eight different directional voice tagging and a selective playback capability that allows users to isolate and listen to specific voices in a group conversation.
This feature whooshed over my head. What does directional voice tagging mean??

6. Galaxy Note 4 also offers an improved Fingerprint Scanner to secure personal data, and what Samsung claims is the world's first UV sensor in a mobile device.
Ahh now I know now what they're planning with the UV sensor.

Dont know why the new note-4 looks thicker to me.Whats your take on this??

SENTENCE should make sense......even if you ABUSE :disagree:

1. Its Same Sung ! Zzzzz!
2. Overpriced
3.Over hyped.
4.Full of Bloatware and Crape ware
5.It runs on Android and that will guarantee horrible battery life and Lags.
6.They are touting their 3 Microphone as an innovation. Nokia 808 has 4 microphone with Rich Recording sine last 3 years!
7.quad HD (2560x1440) .. another hole in battery without any useful advantage over Full HD !
8. Multi Pop Up windows on a 5.5" screen.. soooo useful !
9. UV Sensor .. add a pressure cooker as well to cook!
10.After Three month they will launch Galaxy 6 and puff goes ur Flagship phone!!! ;)

Sorry, will stay with S2.

Thanks for the mention & yes I did read up on the Note 4 yesterday. These YouTube videos are informative too.

TouchWiz UI has been significantly improved in this iteration.

I liked handwriting recognition feature very much though I am not sure how useful it would be to someone like me.But it does give the freedom of writing and editing on the go.
And the first video did explain "directional voice tagging". Thats another interesting feature.

How much flash memory does this have? Is there an expandable slot as well?
