What's new

Were Muslim Rajputs also honour bound to commit Saka and Jauhar when faced with overwhelming odds?

Saka and jauhar were not performed when the adversary was a Hindu. It was performed only and only where mughals/turks were the enemies as they didn't use to spare even the dead bodies in their lust and rapine.

That's good propaganda against the Mughals and Muslim rulers in general. Not that they were angels, but they were not the demons either or there won't be many Hindus alive today or unraped. Right?
My own people were defeated by Babur after three consecutive sieges and attacks. But that's got nothing to do with one side being barbaric and another being civilized but more like one side knowing how to military and the other only knowing how to uphold the need to control and keep women above military tactic and motivation of troops.

As for Jauhar, it had nothing to with Mughals or Turks in general but was a tradition (stupidity) of Rajputs (considering women as lower and subjecting them to death because by losing the honor of those women the honor of the men was also lost, and hence, more than death or victory, the enemy not getting their women was more of a thing in a terribly male dominated society) when facing any enemy at home.
It was this shit alone that was solely responsible for countless defeats of Rajput armies for giving up before even the battle was over.
One's women and children are standing on a suicide pit ready to jump in? What kind of motivation is that to a troop to fight logically?
And then the jump happens before the actual defeat has even taken place or when the Raja has fallen?
So all the enemies had to do was to kill Raja and watch Rajput women burn themselves alive, and the troops come out in two's and threes and get slaughtered.
This is nothing but stupidity for any army that wants to fight to win, and not to shove their manly ego and insecurity above anything else.

And if you were to get your head out of propaganda material/bollywood (one and same) and do some actual digging you will find some real and correct narratives of the history.

Wow. I never knew Bhattis were Rajputs too

Not all.
There are bhattis living elsewhere in the country who are just called bhattis and have nothing to do with Rajputs. For example people who own a donkey in Murree and adjoining areas are refered to as Bhattis in their language.

While Bhatti in the case of Rajputs comes from "Bhati (the fire)" which is used to convert mud bricks into hardened bricks, thus refering to the struggles of this clan of Rajputs after they were forced out of their homeland.

Totally false, this is a purely Rajput Idolater custom (I wouldn't even call them Hindu because Rajput religion was something else.)

Stop furthering your Hindutva revisionist BS here.

Mughals actually put a stop to it by uniting all Rajputs under their flags and promising to honor defeated Rajput clans with land and power, instead of massacring and dishonoring them.

Wow. I never knew Bhattis were Rajputs too

There are many of them in Central Punjab also.
