“Director General of the Vympel Shipyard Evegeny Norenko and the head of military-technical support group of the Russian Navy’s Kuznetsov Military Scientific Center Captain 1st Rank Sergey Feoktistov,”
said the press department in a news release.

The new Project 21980 boat will be the nineth Grachonok-class platform built at the Vympel Shipyard. The enterprise previously delivered four Project 21980 boats to the Northern Fleet and four more boats — to the naval units of Rosgvardiya.

The boats have to guard Russian naval bases. The modern equipment and a high seaworthiness allow engaging in a broad range of missions.

The boats have modern electronic equipment, such as Anapa sonar against hostile underwater swimmers, MP-231 radar, MTK-201 M3 optical-electronic complex, Kalmar complex to detect underwater objects.
