US Bangladesh combined training exercise begins

The first US-Bangladesh Joint Training Exercise for 2009 will take place in Chittagong Division in May.

Units from the Bangladesh Navy and the US Special Operations Command Pacific will focus on marksmanship and small unit tactics, says a press release.

This training is one of many joint activities conducted by the US armed forces and the Bangladesh military. The US militaries have worked in partnership for humanitarian assistance and medical training and have also conducted sea, air and land exercises as well.

The US and Bangladesh regularly conducts Joint Combined Training Exercises.

The previous training exercises were conducted between the US armed forces and the Bangladesh Army, Air Force, Coast Guard and Navy.

in Bangladesh has been foiled there by the authorities.

I see some people get excited about news of exercise with US but in broader prospect (not training itself) US involvement is not good. Bangladesh should and could take care of its own issue.
