The Forgotten People Of Pakistan Who Made A Difference
Some people are remembered forever while some are forgotten, but the truth is that every person leaves a mark. With their small but meaningful contributions in various fields, the following Pakistanis from the olden days helped to shape the future of our country in one way or another.
1. Who doesn’t know Uncle Sargam? Farooq Qaiser was the face behind the most-loved puppet of 80s and 90s. The picture shows him with another one of his puppet, Mr. Bonga Bakheel in 1989.
2. Abdul Khaliq was considered to be the fastest man in Asia. This picture shows him winning the 200m race at 1956 Olympics.
3. Farooq Jehan Taimuri, the very first female employee of Radio Pakistan in the year of 1958.
4. Moses Somake, an Iraqi Jewish architect, with his family. Back in the day, he was Karachi’s leading architect.
5. Muhibullah Khan, a renowned squash player of his time, pictured while hitting a shot through his legs in 1958.
6. Not many people have heard of him but Allama Ala-ud-din Siddiqui played an active role in the creation of Pakistan. The freedom fighter received Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his services.
7. Air Marshal Noor Khan, the man of steel, was the Commander-in-Chief of Pakistan Air Force.
8. Begum Zubeida Habib Rahimtoola, a.k.a The Queen of Hearts, was an active social worker and one of the founders of the All Pakistan Womens’ Association.
