The difference between Iranic and Iranian

Here is a basic family tree of Iranic languages. Lots of them are not native to Iran:

Is "Farsi" interchangeable with "Persian" in terms of the actual language? I was always taught that the language is called "Farsi".
Yes it is. It technically means "of Fars (Persia)." In ancient times it was known as Parsi but Arabs could not pronounce that so Pars became Fars and Parsi became Farsi.
 
Its like every Pirouz is Iranic but not necessarily Iranian.
 
There are also Iranic groups who do not have origin in Iran like Saka, Kushan, and Hepthalites. They are from Altai mountains, Tarim basin area.

Large part of Pakistan and Afghanistan are descended from Iranic nomads.
