New satellite images revealed the locations of a THAAD missile system battery in Saudi territory, specifically in the Al-Kharj region.

The most important features of THAAD:

- The system can shoot down short and medium-range ballistic missiles during the final stage of their flight.
- The system uses hit-to-kill technology - in which kinetic energy destroys the heads of incoming missiles.
- The system has a range of 200 km and can reach a height of 150 km.
- The speed of a missile is 8 times the speed of sound.
- It can tackle targets inside and outside the atmosphere up to 150 km altitude.
