Staggering difference between 2009 swine flu pandemic and 2019 covid pandemic

2009 swine flu infected about 25% of people in US and Canada, but only a few thousand diagnosed cases in Canada, and only lasted about 3 months without the need for mask, vaccine, lockdown. 2019 covid lasts decades, cannot be stopped by mask, vaccine, lockdown. Both were considered new viruses. So it seems something is strange about covid.

Blood tests confirm about 25% of people in Canada and the US were infected by swine flu in 2009. Lots of my classmates in school caught it. It lasted only about 3 months so it was not so bad. No one wore mask, took vaccine, there was no lockdown.

Yes, but I believe that the death rate was non-existent. I mean well below predictions.
