SR-25 Sniper Rifle

The Knights Armaments SR-25 family of weapons are 7.62x51mm semi-automatic medium sniper rifles in use with both regular and special operations forces within the US military.

The various flavors of SR-25 have made their way into US military service, each with a different designation.

• US Army - The M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System
• US Marine Corps - MK 11 Mod 0
• US Navy - Mk 11 Mod 0 Sniper Weapon System

The M110 has been used by Delta Force snipers operating in the mountains of Afghanistan, most notably during the hunt for Osama Bin Laden in Tora Bora, 2001. Navy SEAL snipers used MK11 Mod 0 to take out pirates holding Captain Richard Phillips hostage aboard a lifeboat in 2009.

USMC MK 11 Mod 0 sniper rifles. The MK 11 is fitted with Leupold sights, swivel-base bipod and QD sound suppressor. A Picatinny-Weaver rail system allows for the mounting of various accessories.

Does Pakistan army or SSG operate any clip-on THERMAL night sights for its sniper rifles? Bcz i think thermal sights are way more better in detecting a target than a night vision sight.

Yes thermal scopes are used by army and SSG.. Apart from French FELIN systems (adopted by SSG)... Pak Army uses optics produced by optronics complex and local companies like Shibli etc.

Technically, M110 and SR-25 is a different rifle. In a way HK416 is a different rifle than M4.

M110 was a total redesign from SR-25 for the contract of USSOCOM. While M110 are based off SR-25, some of its design were changed to the adaptation into USSOCOM. Item such as the overall length of the P-Rail were length of the upper receiver where as SR-25 run in a shorter length (Stopped just before the forward iron-sight). The buttstock is also redesigned as well as the barrel grooving. The most significant different is the use of flash hinder
