Look at Morocco, they gained so much clout and fame because of their good performance in the World Cup that the Muslim World made Ashraf Hakimi a hero.

In the US, the Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship. Their star player, Nikola Jokic is a Serb and because of his legendary performance Serbia got so much clout from that. Kaaley know what is Serbia because of Nikola.

Spot on. The best way to gain soft power is through sports especially Football. Nothing on this earth can match the soft power of Football and I mean nothing.

You could make a case for Ronaldo and Messi being the 2 most famous people on earth. They are literally more popular than world leaders.

Extremely sad that we pump most of our sports funding to cricket, a sport which frankly pretty much nobody outside of South Asia cares about.

The Boxer Amir Khan is probably more known on a global basis than any Pakistani cricketer excluding Imran Khan.
