Pakistan will use its influence over Afghan Taliban to ensure security TAPI!!!

I am surprised how out of sync the minister is with his Boss.

Yes the government can and will secure the Pipeline, not only the government but also those villagers and common folks through which the pipeline runs will do the same, remember these common folks will directly benefit from the project in terms of schools, clinics etc. For instance the electricity lines that run from Central Asia is being guarded successfully using the same method.

Talis are maggots, they will be killed if they don't negotiate period!
In Pakistan there are five no-go-areas for the Civilian Governments:

Pakistan’s internal and external security

Pak-Afghan relations

Pak-Indian relations

Pak-US relations

and to some extent, Pak-China relations

all are controlled by the GHQ.

Don’t pay too much attention to what Nawas Sharif or Khawaja Asif (big mouth idiot) say, General Raheel Sharif will be visiting Afghanistan soon(according to media reports), just listen to what he has to say.

Fair point! I bet that is the reason that Ashraf Ghani visited GHQ last year as he knows who is in the driving seat.
But statements like this may carry no weight when it comes to decision making but it does cloud the environment, for instance some of the folks on the Afghan side were quick to pick on it and tried to portray that here look Pakistan is again playing spoilers.

Anyways this process will need strategic patience as there will be lots of distractors.
