Pakistan might send plane of relief goods to J& K
ISLAMABAD, OCT 19 (PTI)
Pakistan was working on proposals to send a plane of relief goods to the quake-affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The proposal to send relief goods to Jammu and Kashmir was made by Chairman of Pakistan's Kashmir Committee Hamid Nasir Chattha to Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz today, an official press release here said.
Chattha informed Aziz that the government-backed Kashmir Committee has decided to send a plane load of relief goods for the earthquake affected in Jammu and Kashmir and requested Aziz to use his good offices to facilitate their transportation.
The Pakistan Prime Minister in turn appreciated Kashmir Committee's role in highlighting the Kashmir cause, the release said.
"Pakistan was committed to a peaceful, just and equitable solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the Kashmiri people," Aziz said.
He also emphasised the need for all three stakeholders to the Kashmir dispute ie Pakistan, India and Kashmir to redouble their efforts to find a durable solution to the Kashmir dispute, it said.
