PAKISTAN INTEGRATES JF-17 WITH STAND-OFF RANGE WEAPON (GIDS REK)

It's theoretically possible, but it'd make the REK into a more complex and costlier kit. If you want to propel something with a turbojet engine, then it'd be best to attach a heavy high-explosive munition, think 600 kg+ like the Denel Raptor III (instead of the 125 kg and 250 kg bombs for the REK). Alternatively, you could attach a turbojet to a bomb dispenser like the NORINCO GB6, which can drop smaller munitions over an area.
Is Denel Raptor 2 in use? Never seen it in any multimedia shared of JF-17 ever.

Cannot say now but in the past CEP of 10 meters meant 50% of weapons launched fell with in 10 meter circle around target with addition of laser mode plus gps cep comes down few

@HRK

Mate help me understand, how is this "pin-point accuracy" ? If bomb was to his thar target labelled "3", then it is above the target, fine but it may miss hitting it. So how should we interpret this pin-point accuracy?
Even if the bomb is off by a couple of meters, do you seriously think it would make any difference? That's minimum of 500lb of explosive 3 meters from the target, it would annihilate anything within 20 meter radius.
If you need more precision then you have to look towards LGBs.

Circular error of probability is calculated from overall PoP - path of projectile and is expressed as the 50th percentile at impact.

@Informed Members;

What does it take to integrate a new weapon with an aircraft? If you have a missile like Ra'ad and a fighter jet with full control over, like JF-17, what does it take to integrate? The process should be fairly straight forward. All you need is an interface between aircraft's digital triggering system and missile's listening system. Its your home built weapon so you know its range and conditions under which it works. So why do we say Ra'ad is integrated with Mirage but not with JF-17s. What is the roadblock? Is that a technical glitch, a weight issue or inability to communicate with missile's radar or something like that?

To make it short, you have to test for perfect relationships
between the existing equipment and the new material in :

Interfaces/Programming/EM compatibility/separation/action.

You have to test each of these so performances are validated
in situ, not on paper. How much buffeting does the new kit
brings to separation for example? If it shakes so hard that it
touches the surrounding load, that is just not acceptable.

You'd be surprised at the mishaps like a plane "shooting" itself.
Connectors uncoupling; loss of performance in programming;
even integrating a fine pristine missile as the Meteor requires
at least 4 test flights per fighter type that will use it. ( Gripen, EF, Rafale )

The AASM testing ( it is similar in nature to the REK ) went as
far as degrading the coordinates to see how well the weapon
found the target IRL. It did fine. And from that, you can safely
draw your tactical use and operational rules.

If you skip on the testing, you turn to trusting your good luck.

For short ... great day to you, Tay.

Precision is ment to make sure no collateral damage dropping 30/50/100 kg if more precision and less destruction is required vs 500 0r 1000 lbs few meters .ca make difference especially in built up areas

New version of REK is now available, range has doubled to 100 km.

CEP has reduced from < 20 m to < 10 m.

Unless

Range varies by release height , bomb type pk-xx vs pk-yy etc

Ie 500 vs 2000 vs 1000 lbs etc

No collateral Damage is a side benefit, precision is sought only to ensure destruction of intended target.

Am i curious how did they expanded a range without a motor/rocket boaster

It seems it does not fit under the JF-17 belly.. the plane is too low compared to the mirage, but what about under the wings? that is another question.. but also because the JF-17 was not built for this role, integration was not necessary..

What it means then is that Pakistan desperately needs some newer generation bomber fighters, considering Mirage III/V are getting very old. They have served us well for decades, extended lives after ROSE but we can only push old technology to a point.
About time to place an order of at least 2 Squadrons of new generation bombers with China.
