a NLOS missile is a missile that is fired beyond the line of sight of the observer. these missiles tend to have a range above 20KM
a few examples are
the Israeli SPIKE NLOS
the missile weighs 70KG and has a range of 25,000 meters. it's has been used by the IDF and the UK forces (Exactor) in combat. South Korea also bought a undisclosed amount of SPIKE NLOS
the People's Republic of China CM-501G
the CM-501G is probably the heaviest and longest range NLOS in the world right now
it weights over 150KG and armed with a 40KG warhead, with a range in excess of 70KM+
China has also developed a lighter version called AFT-10
it weighs 43KG and has a max range of 10KM
another Israeli NLOS system, is the IAI JUMPER
the JUMPER missile system comes in a hive like box that contains 8 missiles. that each weigh 63KG and has a range of 50+KM. they are launched vertically.
the canceled US NLOS-LS was an ambitious program. the NLOS-LS was going to be the main defense against Fast Attack Craft (FAC) for the then new Littoral Combat Ships (LCS), but are now armed with Longbow type Hellfire missiles.
there was to be two types of NLOS-LS missiles each system was comprised of a Container Launch Unit (CLU) that contained 15 missiles
the first was the Precision Attack Missile (PAM) that weighed 53KG with a range of 40KM. It featured 3 mods of guidance GPS/INS,Laser, and Autonomous IR. It also had a multi-mode warhead designed to defeat different types of targets.
the second type was the Loitering Attack Missile (LAM) it was designed to fly to a designated area and loiter for up to 30 minutes autonomously attacking targets. It was to have a range of 72KM
NLOS PAM are the future. coupled with mini-UAVS no enemy is safe.
