For those folks who think American should continue supporting the Afghan war effort, I'd recommend the following letter to the editor by a concerned US Citizen. When there are more hungry mouths than food to go around, who does one feed?
Article here, excerpts below:
Sunday’s News had a tiny article in the upper left-hand corner of page C3 regarding 700 homeless vets in upstate New York, 79 from Western New York.
Below it was a quarter-page story and picture of a Girl Scout troop fixing and furnishing an apartment for Afghanistan refugees on their way to Buffalo thanks to Journey’s End. It was a three-bedroom apartment complete with games, kitchen supplies, TV, bedding, etc.
The GIs who fought in Afghanistan are homeless while we provide free housing to Afghans who come here. Is anyone else out there scratching their heads?
