The Indira Gandhi Tulip garden in Srinagar has once again become the focus of attraction for locals as well as tourists.

This is the second largest tulip garden in the world after the famous Keukanenhof tulip garden in Holland.

The Zabarwan mountain range also nestles the famous Mughal gardens overlooking one of the valley's major tourist attractions, the Dal Lake.

Javed Ahmad Shah, the officer in charge of the garden, says that plans are afoot to add 29 more hectares to the existing expanse of the garden.

He admits that the number of visitors is lesser this year.

Shah attributes this to the heavy rains that have lashed the valley in March.
