I think we should also think about D-Jam or Electromagnetic weapons, which will neutralize any electrical component of S 400. All you need to generate millions volt of electrical impulse for a very short time. That will do the magic.

few 2 cents thoughts
1) tactical capability that these sorts of weapons bring to theater conflicts or regional conflicts(e.g India Bharmos missle bring conflict to Pakistan Nasar missle) . Very quick response, high speed, highly maneuverable, difficult to find and track and kill.
2)If we go to the path of space-based hypersonic defense is not a practical approach,due to both the speed of the hypersonic missile and the fact it flies fairly low to the ground

3) I think AI is the answer like US working on under JAIC will follow the model set by Project Maven, in which the US Air Force uses AI to analyze full-motion video footage. AI or ML giving weapons greater autonom to break the 6min OOAD loop. but it require to pass the Ethics law.

Super sonic and Hyper sonic is the future , but they are not invincible weapon system which cant be countered .
