New Delhi: In the backdrop of the Modi government having successfully stalled an anti-Israel resolution in the Parliament, Jerusalem has said that it will not allow the on-going Gaza conflict overtake its bilateral ties with New Delhi.

Israeli deputy chief of mission Yahel Vilan on Tuesday said that Israel welcomes external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj’s statement calling upon both sides to talk peace.

Speaking on behalf of his government, Mr Mr Vilan said the two sides enjoy “strong and fruitful ties” and are working to enhance them. As for attempts being made by world powers led by the US and the UN to broker peace between Israel and the Hamas, Israel doesn’t sound too optimistic about their efforts while reiterating its support for the peace proposal put forth by the Egyptians on June 16.

Why did the Hamas trash the peace proposal initiated by Egypt and which Israel accepted? Are Hamas' egos greater than the lives of hundreds of civilians killed to date?

I think Hamas needs to get off its high horse and listen to reason to stop further bloodshed forthwith.

No, Palestine shouldn't bear the weight of mistakes committed by Hamas.

What mistakes committed by Hamas?

For Hamas ,its OK but why death to innocent Palestines?
They are Civilian like us.
Long Live Palestines too.

Hamas didn't do anything wrong. It had an Israeli war waged upon Gaza. If you took Gaza out of the equation, Israel would be waging a war somewhere else. Every two years this occurs, it's part of Israeli culture and policy. They need war many reasons:

-Right wing government to get support=re election
-Keep the region in a state of war to have an excuse for their ongoing occupation
-Military industry makes billions
-Politically, they can try causing divisions amongst Arabs
-They want to secure more military aid
-They want to to try to present an argument against peace
