What's new

Federal ignores Karachi basic projects again!

On March 06, 1953 Lahore was handed over to the army with a MANDATE. Why can't that be done in Karachi? Why has Karachi been left to the mercy of MQM? AH gets arrested and Karachi shuts down, innocent civilians held hostage, the whole country looks on. Nobody has the balls to ask why are you shutting down a city because of someone who was laundering on behalf of night clubs and casino! Not only shameful but disgusting!

I blame all politicians including noora nawaz, zardaria & altafa...all these dumb @$$h0l3s have ego issues & because of that Karachi is getting destroyed. We don't need these corrupt politicians.

@Bilal. thanks for saying what would be the best solution over all. Declare Karachi a federal territory. That would allow Federal Govt to manage finance and compensate Sind for loss of revenue. Sindhis will have a cow. I myself have never contemplated division of Sindh. But going by the current mismanagement by PPP, this seems to be the only way forward.

@bulbula / Shan, you are a very arrogant person. Do you ever think before you post? What do you mean by saying that Karachi will become '0'? If you think Gwadar will ever compare to Karachi, you are deluded. Exporters of Punjab will always prefer Karachi and look to Gwadar only as a secondary port.

Since you can not control your stupid racial superiority complex, you feel that it is your right to look down on others. Few like MQM, but that is not a reason to stamp on Karachi. Karachi is more Pakistan that where ever you are from.

Sir, please include Mush in this list. He has done far more to harm Pakistan than all of the above.

Karachi is held hostage by MQM walas, Altaf mandak farts and Karachi gets closed. Do you think depending to much on Karachi make sense? Thats why Gwader will reduce Karachi influence.

Do not put all your eggs into one basket.

@Chak Bamu, sir PPP has still not learnt the lesson, the magnitude of inaction is just unbelievable. A national asset like Karachi should not be allowed to become victim of their incompitence. Since interior sindh is pretty much a fiefdom the only way forward seems to be to make Karachi a federal territory because making it a province at this moment will be equal to throwing it to another hound.

Mera bhai, iss tarah Kaho na!

Why make sweeping blanket statements that make one's head spin?

Karachi should at least get 40% of total Sindh budget if not more. Karachi share of Sindh GDP is 80%. If population figures are right then 50% of Sindh population live in Karachi alone.

You are very right. It might be possible to better address Sindh's concerns this way.

I have a sneaking suspicion that PPP's mismanagement is deliberate. Could it be that they want Karachi-walahs to make a forceful case for separation from Sindh? Perhaps this is not likely, but a possibility nonetheless.

Why would PPP want that? I think they are punishing MQM walas for supporting mushy against PPP. Remember 12 may 2007 riots?

You give them too much credit while all they want is to drink bhang and relax:)

Bhai 40% choro, projects like lyari express way has been "under construction" for 10 years and KCR is "under planning" for the past quarter century.

Perhaps you are right. But then PPP had MQM as a coalition partner for 5 years.

If PPP walas do not wake up, they will break apart Sindh. The inaction seems so deliberate.... Its insane.

Look at Multan. Yousaf Raza Gilani's sons minted a lot of money from the long-delayed projects. This is standard PPP practice. In 1996, Cricket World Cup final (?) was to be in Lahore. They could not get the roads ready in time. PPP is a totally bankrupt party. Even a bit of Shahbaz Sharif's hurry-flurry would not rub on them. PPP is beyond hope. It is on its way to being a regional party of rural Sindh.

Mush did all good for the country...his few mistakes took him out.

Today, one can only imagine the peaceful developing Karachi during Mush/MQM era. Not only Karachi but whole country was accelerating towards becoming prosperous country of the region. It was his strategic thinking which led to few development projects in Gwadar, it was his era when PKR was stable at 58/$, it was his era when economy growth rate was above 7%, it was his era when defense projects like JF-17, Al-Khalid, drones, etc give successful results...I can go on.

The thing is that Pakistan need a leader with iron fist.

Sir, you are mixing a lot of issues here. I could answer each and every point of yours to your satisfaction, but this is not the thread for it. I shall just remark that I strongly disagree. As far as I am concerned, Mush was not only a complete failure, but an example of how a nut can become a general and then stage a coup.
