@人民日报: Primary School in Hubei Shiyan: #Man Jumps to Death After Knife Attack Against Teachers and Students# — According to @十堰晚报 [Shiyan Evening News], multiple netizens have reported information: This morning, a man entered the Shiyan Yunxi county Dongfang Elementary School and jumped off a building to his death after killing multiple teachers and students. The reporter is currently investigating the specific details.

Additionally, according to a CNR Yunxi September 1st report, at around 10:20am on the morning of September 1st, a vicious attack happened at the Dongfang Primary School in Hubei province Shiyan city Yunxi county. The criminal suspect Chen X (a student’s parent) carrying a fruit knife stabbed 9 people (among them one teacher). As the wounded were taken to the hospital for treatment, three died, while suspect Chen X committed suicide at the scene by jumping off a building.
After the incident, Shiyan Municipal Committee Party Secretary Zhou Ji immediately directed that no effort or cost be spared in saving the injured; that the public security bureau [police] quickly investigate the cause; that all of the city’s schools and kindergartens increase security; and that the Yunxi county government handle the proper arrangements; and provide the necessary comfort and psychological counseling for the school’s students and teachers.
At present, public security departments have already begun their investigations of the case, with various work dealing with the aftermath already being carried out.
