We are told most Muslims are moderates, but see very little coming form this "vast" majority to counter the nutjobs who have either 1- hijacked Islam or 2- are obeying it truthfully. it is up to everyday Moslems to show us which one it is.

Mushy is coming out on tht TV and asking people to vote moderate parties. At least in my circle of friends majority are moderates. Moderate voices dont make the "News'. Pak mass(Urdu) media is full of zealot sympathisers, just as US media is dominated by the Jews and Indian media ( at least ZTV) by a very strong anti Pak bias that associate even Indian muslims with Pakistan.

Because Nawaz Sharif and his cronies used to go to Zia's tomb every year and vow to carry on the bigots mission. And we cant forgive BB and her husband Mr 10 percent. Many Pakistanis dont vote in the elections as indicated by the low voter turn out. Still one will find that majority in Punjab and Sindh are moderates. ( MQM is secular as well)

If we look at other muslim countries, we find that except in Iran ( 70-million) and the Arabian penensula ( 30- million including KSA) most other countries are moderate. Turkey is secular, no one can say that Egypt and North Africa ( perhaps Algeria to some extent) are fanatic countries. Moderates are definitely in majority in Indonesia, and Malaysia. Strong support of Awamy League ( Sh Mujib's party) in Bangla Desh also confirms the moderates have a majority there as well.

It is incorrect to look at Afghanistan, NWFP and Baluchistan, Iran and Saudi Arabia and ask where are the moderates??

I am one of the silent majority and free elections today will result in a moderate party coming to power in most countries. If you want moderates to use terror as a weapon to counter the fanatics; they would be moderates no longer!!
