British Armed forces seem to be appropriate to probable or potential threats. After all who is going to attack UK? Bunch of drunk Irish rowing across the St George's Channel singing "It's a Long Way to Tipperary"?

Or even worse bunch of drunk Irish being led by a Pakistani, Arieb Azhar singing "When I was Young".

So, everybody go to sleep. UK is safe for now.

It no longer makes any sense for European countries to maintain military on its own. Nato is the way to go. They cannot have a big military and corresponding expensive budget.

But the problem with nato is not every one will agree with each other on foreign matters. Not to forget the fact two nuclear powers would be reluctant to give up their special status for the benefit of group.

Well we got France protecting us on the Southern flank. The Irish on our Western flank. On the Eastern flank we got the Nordics so yeh, all in all a sweat deal. Then we got water as well. It stopped Hitler in1940 so I guess what estate agents say about buying houses is true, location, location and location.

RAF is good enough to go around giving grief to the next dictator Yanks feel like tangling with .....

You should send some police officers to help us,our police is outnumbered and now are using "violence" against them,they are fed up. I bet one day it will end in a shootout...
