The company said today that it welcomed the decision by Iran Air to acquire 18 Airbus A330neo and 16 A350-1000 aircraft, which are powered exclusively by the Trent 7000 and Trent XWB engines respectively.
In addition, Rolls-Royce will provide engines for 27 A330ceo and 12 A380 aircraft that Iran Air is also to acquire.

Dominic Horwood, Rolls-Royce, Director, Customers & Services - Civil Aerospace, said: “We welcome this decision by Iran Air to select Rolls-Royce powered aircraft and, consistent with the improved regulatory environment that now exists, we look forward to supporting the modernisation of commercial aviation in Iran.”

The firm, which has its civil aerospace division at Sinfin, will supply Trent 900 engines for three Airbus A380 aircraft ordered by All Nippon Airways (ANA).

The deal, worth £210 million, strengthens the relationship between Rolls-Royce and ANA.

The company already supplies Trent 1000 engines for all of ANA's Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
