750 F-35s Now Delivered (Overall F-35 deliveries now stand at 753, with more than half (53%) coming in the last three years.)

From what I have studied their economy was becoming more and more unstable as the war began. Their enormous military buildup was financed to a large extent through deficit spending, including Mefo bills. Between 1933 and 1939 the total revenue of the German government amounted to 62 billion Reichsmarks, whereas government expenditure (up to 60% of which consisted of rearmament costs) exceeded 101 billion, thus causing a huge deficit and rising national debt (reaching 38 billion marks in 1939). Hitler and his economic team expected that the upcoming territorial expansion would provide the means of repaying the soaring national debt, by using the wealth and manpower of conquered nations.

The German wartime economy was very inefficient. Nazi Germany was confident that the war would end quickly; however, that didn't happen. For this reason, a full wartime economy wasn't mobilised until it was too late. Hitler was against the idea of women in the workforce, despite there being a deficit in the male workforce. The necessity for a stronger workforce was becoming clearer and clearer as defeats on the front were building up on both sides. Additionally, there were a number of different conflicting plans within the German wartime economy such as the creation of ministries out of nowhere and these ministries had different conflicts with each other. Consequently, this led to a very inefficient government and economy in a time when they needed a very efficient economy. Albert Speer did try to change things after becoming the Minister of Armaments and War Production and his policies did yield positive results but it was too late.

True, But same applies to US if it was bombed to stone ages by half a dozen world powers. US got away because it was on the other side of the world or it would have done a lot worse than the Nazis. Putting in the context US has not done anything today that Nazis could not 70 years ago.

Germans were good but US has inexhaustible industrial power matched with manpower

Soviet Union gave chase and eventually become bankrupt when they went all out during the Nuclear submarine build race

US stripped USSR down to the bone they out built and out classed the Soviet Union

in 1947 US had 3.8 million tons of warships rest of the World combined had 2.8 million

when it comes high end sophisticated equipment in large numbers, US stands alone

U.S.-made F-35s grounded in South Korea after malfunction forces fighter jet to make dramatic belly landing

South Korea has grounded its entire fleet of advanced F-35 fighter jets, officials said Wednesday, pending a probe into a dramatic emergency landing. After the landing gear on a South Korean F-35A stopped working during a major systems malfunction, the pilot chose not to eject and instead landed the jet on its belly — walking away without any injuries.

The heart-stopping incident Tuesday, at an air force base in the west of the country, has prompted a probe during which South Korean F-35s will be grounded.

"With the investigation under way, the entire (F-35) fleet is suspended from flying," a defense ministry official told AFP

thats 750 x 5th Generation fighters

quite unbelievable

and its such a expensive aircraft is well

US industrial base for high end equipment has no equal and probably never will

That’s not the half of it. A friend of mine worked at one of the plants in the LA area. He said he would have to throw away circuit board if there was even the slightest defect or something that looked like it could be defective. In Military hardware, US products are the best in the world in terms of quality. Some designs are crap due to other reasons like the LCS, the conventional design ones, but that was just a design handed down by the beam counters. Thankfully the USN is going with the constellation class (Italian FREMM derivative with AEGIS upgrades)

BTW, the recently Thailand deal revealed the F-35 could be exported for around $70 Million a unit. Completely shifts the export market for planes like the EuroCanards but not so much for the second hand market of F-16s.

US can hardly take down NoKo or Nam let alone good old USSR. USSR went down because of communism not Amreeka.

You missed the gist, we are not talking about the size of US rust buckets of WWII but technology and Germans were way ahead at the time.

There is still a big market for at least 1,000 to 2,000 more units in terms of exports beyond the American order of 2,400 F-35s. Countries like Israel, Singapore, Finland, and Poland will definitely order more jets, while Canada is more likely to choose F-35s over Gripen as well in their tender.

This puts the order book somewhere around the following:

  • USA: 2,500
  • Israel: 150 (confirmed + additional)
  • Japan: 147
  • UK: 100 (confirmed + additional)
  • Italy: 90
  • South Korea: 80
  • Finland: 64
  • Norway: 52
  • Netherlands: 46
  • Australia: 44
  • Switzerland: 36
  • Belgium: 35
  • Poland: 32
  • Singapore: 12 (might get 36-48 more to replace older F-16s in the future)
TOTAL: 3,388

We are not factoring in other countries like Austria, Hungary, Thailand, U.A.E., Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Each of these countries can easily order 2-5 squadrons of F-35s, taking the order comfortably over 4,200 units.

That's 5th generation fighter orders right there for just one model.

Lockheed Martin has hit a delayed but huge jackpot.
