3 of 4 Mossad spies killed in shootout east of Tehran on Mostafa Khomeini Blvd, Damavand

I don’t really understand, Iran really did fail to give this poor guy better security as he deserved there’s a long line of incidents of people being killed off working for this programme. and in the manner he was murdered in his own country is really shocking and he won’t be the last either
What it alludes to is that, the mole inside Iran is a trusted figure and an inside man of the regime... and possibly may not be alone.
These are things that can start a wild goose chase... especially, due to lack of evidence or clues.
In a society where seniority/rank, hubris and either strongman persona or a sycophant/suck-up can easily take advantage of the system/subordinates but also work with impunity given the circumstance.

Equally important is possibility that both high level officials themselves may have had their identities compromised and thus mandating such brazen actions.

It's down to the arrogance and hubris that is part and parcel of a dictatorial regime. Everything about Iran is the best from their point of view. They have the best intelligence, best missiles, best drones etc. No one can touch Iran. No one can invade. If anyone dares harm an Iranian official, "the gates of hell will open" blah blah "earthquake of vengeance" etc etc.

Then the USA pop their most important famed military figure, and they retreat for a few months like shell shocked kittens. Sadly it appears they didn't learn their lesson and another important figure was eliminated right under their noses.

How does the fact someone got assassinated determine how good of a nuclear scientist he was?
He had a convoy of 3 bulletproof vehicles. 2 Snipers, 4 motorcyclists, 4 people in a car and a bomb planted in a car took them out.

I was tasking about the general.

The scientist is probably more important. It's hard to know how important, but he was old and whatever insights into nuclear knowledge he could offer, he has done it by now. Oppenheimer is also dead but his insights into nuclear physics are not lost.
Yes, I heard it was so bad that at least a dozen had to take paracetamol.

Some people are allergic to paracetamol. Its also bad for your liver. So these solders might have their life expectancy cut by minutes in the long run.
@Beny Karachun ...in your view what will be the Israeli strategy when eventually ( let's say next 25 years) The major Muslim nations of middle east such as Iran, Turkey, Egypt will eventually develop the bomb and other less capable actors such as Saudi/UAE will buy them. Considering that Pakistan already has the bomb then Israel will be surrounded with all these nations that may or may not be very friendly to Israel.?? What is the long term view from your side of the pond.

If that happens, what will they do? They will cry "oy vey, oy vey, what are we going to do now"

There is nothing they can do. They will just think that history is repeating itself and that they will never feel safe anywhere ever again. And that's what they've felt for 2,000 years. So it's just more of the same really.

Some will renew their polish citizenships. some will go and live in UAE, where they can make money.

most will stay in Israel and just become less aggressive and arrogant. they will pray a lot more.

The truth is, when this land was given to them to make their own country they just took it and felt grateful. There was no long term plan for keeping it. Take what you can, keep what you can. anything was better than having to fight Europeans again. Conflict with Europeans ended with them coming very close to complete extermination. They faced murder on an industrial scale set up solely so that they don't exist anymore.

Scary when you think about it.

So the prospect of having enemies in the Middle East who are backward, and under the control of the British and French empire would have come as a complete relief. They never even contemplated that these counties will eventually be free and independent and a real threat.

80 years later, not much was changed. They still don't face any enemies that are free and independent and they are working with the west to ensure it stays that way.

In the next 20 to 30 years, you will get the emergence of a free and independent Turkey and eventually Iran. Both with nukes. This will stabilise the situation. But cause great anxiety for them.

They will see a time that Arabs will gain the same level of advancement and to preempt that I believe they will form some sort of an EU with the Arabs. Free trade, free movement.

So the Middle East will be split into 3.

1) Turkish influence under a greater Turkey. (MOGA - Make Ottomans great again)
2) Iranian shiite crescent
3) The Semitic Union of Zionist Elders. (SUZE)

This might keep them safe for another 70 years. But like all crusader states in the past there is just no telling when SUZE will collapse or be overrun by the other nuclear powers such as MOGA.

But SUZE might work, it could be a paradise on earth, each group will do what it is good at. the Israelis could be the bankers, the gulf Arabs can spend the money, the Palestinians can be factory workers.

Israel has a future in the region, just not in its current form. It's not sustainable and they know it.
