With very limited knowledge, recessive carriers are Ok but can be problematic for future generations.

thanks. does it come through in-breeding the same stock over and over again? how does it come in, in the first place.

Well first of all I'm not bio student so my knowledge is limited. This sister knows more than me.
Here's what I got for you, inbreeding usually is consider dangerous and not appreciated. Overlapping of genes can cause defects. But two recessive allele together is a problem.

But with no prior history of any genetic problem, inbreeding is not like very much dangerous

Recessive is not gene brother.. Gene has further two parts coming from each of the parent called alleles.. alleles are recessive or dominent.

Amd now come to the problem... Recessive allele is not the problem if the other partner is dominent as it would mask it's affect. But when both recessive alleles come into play then it causes a genetic disease. As both are recessive representing mutations .

Inbreeding is dangerous no matter how much is your genetic pool good.. many of the factors contribute to it. I'll discuss it in detail..
