The truth of it Pakistan was created by accident. That is the hard truth. As late as 1945 if Nehru had agreed to Jinnah's demands there would have been no Pakistan. Only Allama Iqbal and Rahmat Ali had Pakistan as the defined goal. Iqbal in 1930 Allahabad Address and Rahmat Ali in 1933 with his pamphlet "Now or Never".

Jinnah was not after Pakistan. Jinnah was trying to secure the interests of his electorate. In particular the minority Muslims of UP and other parts of modern day India. In trying to do that he picked on Allama Iqbal's idea and Rahmat Ali's name as a negotiating ploy.If that negoation had gone his way there would no Pakistan. So technically speaking Jinnah did not create Pakistan.

However to me it does not in the slightest reduce Pakistan's functionality today. Every country has come about through some accident. The only differance is what accident. I will list a few here.

USA > Tax
India > East India Company greed.
Sudia Arabia > One man's greed

Just like there was no particular great reason the area that Pakistan become part of British India in the first place ( I would say English greed ) in the same way there does not have to be any reason why this piece we call Pakistan left British clutches in 1947. Was there any divinbe reason how this piece got attached to British India in 1849?

What is more important today is this country looks after the citizens from all the provinces. The history though is taught must reflect the history of the constituting parts. The federation must reflect those lands that voted to join it in 1947. If Pakistan can do that then it will grow into strong prosperous country. If not I fear for the future.

Basing a identity just on religion is a lie. It might have been needed to undo what the British did in 1849 but we must recognize that it was a fallacy. If Pakistan is for Muslims and Islam open the bloody door to every Muslim on Allah's earth. Ever heard of Muslim ummah? Be truthfull to what we preach.

If not can we please fall back on weaving a identity around our lands and our people that are 7,000 years old.

Pakistan is a reality now and should be respected by India, our priority now is destroying the nation of Bangladesh and the cockroaches inhabit it. We would like Pakistans help in this endeavour once there war with the Taliban is over.

Whether we care to admit it or not they are causing a big problem throughout South Asia. 3Million illegal cockroaches in Karachi alone and 20 million cockroaches in India. It's an important issue that both ISI and RAW can work on.

My last post in other thread emphasises education is the only way out of this slump for Pakistan. But, if this is the kind of education kids are receiving then only Allah can save Pakistan!

Jaswant Singh remembers Patel and Nehru in special words whenever he mentions then due to their stubborn and hostile attitude towards Muslims. but in a way they showed Jinnah what was in store for Muslims in a combined combined India.
