What If India Attacks Pakistan?

You tried it before in 1959, and you were rewarded with 1962.

Thats what I am saying
Nehru might have been an Idiot, but Modi isnt

Taliban is doing a good job in screwing Pakistanis,
infact they have killed more Pakistani soldiers than all indo pak wars put together

What will India do by attacking Pakistan?

When ever India try to build good relationship Pakistan, Cross border fire intensifies and incident like killing of soldiers take place. India is least interested in attacking Pakistan but Pakistan provokes or attack india, There will be an appropriate reply. Pakistan shall not be able to sustain.

Honestly, in a conventional war, India can cause some serious damage to Pakistan.

Yes

However, Pakistan can and will cause an equal amount of damage to India.

No You are not in a position to do that.

War is rarely started unless one country is in a clear strategic advantage. China had an advantage over India in 62 - India's intelligence and leadership was in a total mess, India/Bangladesh had an advantage over Pakistan in 71 - not going to start why to avoid getting trolled. India did not force an offensive during Kargil or after terrorist attacks because it did not have an advantage.

A war of attrition will be long drawn, drain the economy, cause several million deaths and if won, will lead to maintaining a territory that hates them - and also total isolation from international community. There is more to be gained from trade and commerce than enslaving mass populations. Thankfully, most nations are sane enough to realize this after 5000 years of warfare.

India's problems are massive, requiring its leaders urgent attention that war with Pakistan would distract from.

Any political advantage for Modi would be short-lived.

India is expected to surpass China as the world's most populous nation by 2025. As the Indian population rises rapidly amidst its depleting land and water resources, the widespread hunger problem could grow worse unless serious steps are taken now to remedy the situation.

"We will eat grass, even go hungry, but we will get Lahore"- Modi. That guarantees India will attack pakistan

Modi on bangladesh- "We shall build a wall, 1000 leagues high and 1000 leagues deep, to keep them (bangla deshi) out"

Yep, brace yourselves, the sh*t shovelling is starting!

Honestly, in a conventional war, India can cause some serious damage to Pakistan. However, Pakistan can and will cause an equal amount of damage to India. No one would win that kind of war, both sides will have losses and both sides will gain nothing. If it were to turn into a war of attrition, India would have the upper hand since its 5 times bigger than Pakistan but that will most likely never happen as the international community will intervene sooner or later. The best case scenarios in an India-Pakistan war are:

-For Pakistan: Pakistan seriously damages IAF and Indian Armour, pushes deep into Kashmir, captures and defends its positions, India retaliates with massive counter attacks all over Pakistan, they are repelled and the International Community intervenes, Pakistan gets to keep a little bigger part of Kashmir.

-For India: India seriously damages Pakistan's military in general, takes over a good portion of Azad Kashmir and threatens Islamabad and Lahore. Pakistan arms and prepares nukes, International community intervenes, India gets to keep a bit of Azad Kashmir and other territories here and there.

Both of these scenarios are really, really not worth the lives of a couple of million Soldiers and Civilians, not to mention a possible nuclear exchange - I sure hope Modi doesn't start actually believing his bravado and do something as stupid as starting a full scale war.
With all honesty, my opinion is mode of warfare is fluid in nature, it evolves with technology, mindset, society, and evolving nature of logic...... there were days when armies got together is predetermined frontiers and fought hand to hand, that changed to flanking maneuver, then came the bows and arrows horse cavalries, making their way to trench warfare... so on and so forth.... nations which did not adopt are now footnotes in pages of history.

Very soon the concept of world war II styles divisions charging with mechanized cavalry with infantry battalions preceded by air interdiction will make way to new form of warfare, some of it which is seen in syria and else where.... small consistent investments in people pay huge dividends, perception management along with clear and deliberate identification of objectives with the right kind of backing will make way for new form of warfare...

The main players in the world are cognizant and are already making arrangements in humint, where warfare is not just fought with weapons but with political emotions, indoctrination, corruption, radicalization, social change and revolutionary ideology.

I am afraid both India and Pakistan are living in the past and deliberately ignoring to see the writing on the wall.

Did he really say this? Or is this paraphrased through poetic license ?

A full scale war between Pakistan and India is not possible as of now.

We want peace and Pakistan has learned her lessons well, add to that it will take themtime to recover from the losses of WoT.

Both nations will not opt for war fo long time, but skirmishes on border will keep happening; sometimes to give message and sometimes to test resolve of another.

It will be interesting to see how China plays her cards in this context, the Pak Chia alliance has already failed to stop rise of India.

Beijing is trying to keep India bogged down in South Asia, India is already countering her moves.

With the India's rising economic might ,military power and international clout, position of India will only strengthen in coming years.

War is a foregone conclusion. And is anti-thetic to any plans for development. In fact it will rollback development as the aftermath of such a conflict with both Pakistan and India would lead to billions of dollars worth in loss in infrastructure, thousands if not millions dead, and will make the entire region, including the vital sea route of the IOR susceptible to collateral damage.

No to war. Yes to Regional Development.

He actually said that. Modi is Punjabi so he loves Lahore like you love your mother.

I thought Modi-Ji was Gujarati.

India is ranked 33rd and Pakistan 39th among the most overcrowded nations of the world by Overpopulation Indexpublished by the Optimum Population Trust based in the United Kingdom. The index measures overcrowding based on the size of the population and the resources available to sustain it.

India has a dependency percentage of 51.6 per cent on other nations and an ecological footprint of 0.77. The index calculates that India is overpopulated by 594.32 million people. Pakistan has a dependency percentage of 49.9 per cent on other nations and an ecological footprint of 0.75. The index calculates that Pakistan is overpopulated by 80 million people. Pakistan is less crowded than China (ranked 29), India (ranked 33) and the US (ranked 35), according to the index. Singapore is the most overcrowded and Bukina Faso the least on a list of 77 nations assessed by the Optimum Population Trust.
