Iraqi's Abrams loses to Grenades

No problem, i'm aware of the incompetence due to lack of training and mass recruitment.

Armored forces especially the heaviest (Abrams) should stay on the highways and open desert as much as possible, this place they moved in isn't an area for armored forces, small-mid size groups of ground forces should move in quietly instead, the one that sees the enemy first and plans an ambush will most likely win, in this case ISIS which makes sense anyway. You can hear the Abrams from far away.. idiotic commanders told them to go there and the tank personnel don't know what they're doing either, sure they can operate the tank but they didn't get a lot of training about using armor in this type or warfare. our politicians don't understand, high level training > mass recruitment.

That's just the thing....simple things that are so obvious even for non military like us seem to escape the grasp of Iraqi Army officers ! It puzzles me.

If people like us interested in military though never been in the army for most of us can see what they're doing wrong and how it is supposed to be done it points out a lot. Those soldiers came through mass recruitment ( just sign the papers and easy short training which everyone can pass ), i've seen the aiming issues as well, the US changed their M16's to semi automatic to force their soldiers to aim instead of spray after the Vietnam war. Iraq's forces that received the M16/M4 are forced to do this as well but without the right training it doesn't help a lot.

Many of the officers aren't even interested in military otherwise they wouldn't allow all this, the soldiers joining aren't at fault, if there were good commanders those coming for a payroll and the other that don't have what it takes wouldn't get through selection, except there isn't any selection except for ISOF which is well trained but too small to take care of everything.

There is talk of Egypt-Iraq military deals and co-operation, since there is no language barrier between those 2 the most useful would be if they'd set up their training program to create a capable force.

It would certainly be usefull to have competent officers on the ground and the Egyptians seem to fit .Hope for a quick change in the situation,i'm tired of seeing AK wielding loonatics dancing on armoured vehicles and taking outpost after outpost.

I don't understand.

You asked how they differentiate. Its like Muslim terrorists going around killing people asking who is Muslim and not.

since you are quantifying religion with terrorism , So it mean that pope is also a terrorist , since he knows too much about Christianity ?

Its sarcasm anyways. I mean thats how Muslim terrorists do it in terrorist attacks going around killing people and asking if they are truly Muslims or not by giving them a quiz.

I've seen pictures of the Bradley's making up the rest of that armoured column, not a single battle scratch on them.Looks like those Iraqi incompetents ran the tank into a ravene than fled from it and the rest of the APC's without a fitght.Cowards and incompetents....
Interesting, considering that the last pic shows m113's in the background.... pls post link.

M1A1 Abrams was rejected by Pakistan Armed Forces way back in 80s. And now with passage of time it shows why.

Well done Pak army.

you rejected Abrahms because it was too much for Pak Army. PA prefer to use light weight tanks, rather than havier tank due to money and maintanance factor not due to technical factor.

That's walking a very tight rope. It's hard to say who's who.

Could you kindly provide us an official quiz sample from The Pentagon? Must be one hell of a quiz!

Another thing, what is in it for you when it comes to the FSA? What is your stake here?

Thanks.

Why do they want BMP-3

Because they need infantry fighting vechiles and tanks ( BMP3 & T90 ) to fill in the gaps of the armored divisions being formed, aside from that there is a semi confirmation that ZTZ-99 tanks have been bought from China as well, this isn't new news it's from months ago

why there hasn't been deliveries?
It takes time to build those vechiles

Can't believe this is the same country that fought Iraq-Iran war that even hundred of thousands casualties didn't destroy their morale completely(as shown by ability to launch number of offensive after suffering heavy casualties. It took thousands of casualties to rout the the same iraqis army over in the 1980s. Now, maybe mere 1000 or less casualties would cause a mass rout. The baath party under Saddam seems to be much more effective at war.
