1000+ dead civvies, a lot of them women and kids = PR nightmare, though I doubt Israel cares about that , any why should they ? They are under constant rocket attack, + they got the U.S watching their back. Though this is not a war of aggression, just very heavy handed retaliation .

Here on this forum, we have the terrorist supporting racist crazies as well as muslim hating Indian crazies, and then we have normal people.. so there's varying levels of rage but all of those groups are equally aghast at the images pouring out of Gaza.

afaic, images from an Israeli soldier's funeral are just as sad as flattened Gaza neighborhoods and dead kids strewn about.

happens every few years, just hope this round gets over soon.

You can't compare 1941 to 2014. There are laws of war in place. Second of all, The US didn't occupy Japan and it's people. Japan attacked as a sovereign nation. Palestinians are in an act of resistance against the brutal occupier. There are no parallels here.

What the US did in Japan as well was very wrong. They wanted to test those weapons and intimidate Soviet Union. I don't care what justifications they come up with. The US is also known for a warongering nation which has committed many of the worst atrocities on the planet thanks to your Jewish military industrialists in the US who want to make billions.

Israel left all Gaza in 2005.
Israel removed all soldiers.
Israel removed all settlements.
Israel opened border between Gaza and Egypt.

What did the Palestinians? They could create a second Singapore, instead they started to fire thousands of rockets into Israel.

Although the international law clearly states there is no any occupation in Gaza (except the occupation of Qatari terrorists):

Art. 42.
Territory is considered occupied when it is actually placed under the authority of the hostile army.
The occupation extends only to the territory where such authority has been established and can be exercised.

Naval blockade does not mean occupation, and the only reason for it is to limit weapons into Gaza. Even the UN commission found it fully legal.

82. The fundamental principle of the freedom of navigation on the high seas is subject to only certain limited exceptions under international law. Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza. The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure in order to prevent weapons from entering Gaza by sea and its implementation complied with the requirements of international law.

In 2010 Israel eased blockade allowing construction materials into Gaza. What did the Palestinians? - started to build dozens of terror tunnels into Israel.

Again, you think people are foolish. The UN and even the US still consider Gaza occupied. Further, Israel had restrictions on Gaza just as the West Bank and worse for over 40 years. After elections Israel placed a siege on Gaza. Only people crying and bombing civilians here are IDF:

I was surprised to see how many people on social media (non Muslims) who are pro Palestinian. It seems like people are waking up to Israel’s disgusting behaviour.

Hazzy I understand ur complexes. 66 years ago gnadpa fled leaving his boots from bunch of Jews who were small in number and poorly armed. Thats humiliating. After 66 years despite HUGE support from all over the world u are still nothing but stateless beggars. Now u send terrorists through tunnels shooting some guards in the back and it makes u hard and feel man in ur New Jersey moms basement. Thats the biggest achievement of ur nation in 66 years. Nuff said.

The 2009 Israeli offensives, the Palestinians were very weak and inorganized. Further, half of those members were ordinary policemen.

This Israeli offensive, the IDF doesn't have military targets, can't do surprise attacks or kill any commanders. The Palestinians are organized. Even the UN has said 80% of the casualties are civilians.

How can UN know who is civilian and who is not? Plus most of UN workers in Gaza are Palestinians aka Hamas.

The main difference is that u build dozens of tunnels to penetrate Israel + shelters for ur leaders so they could hide in safe.

So the question arises, why not go for a grand operation once and take the PR hit on your chin, instead of doing small operations every couple of years?

What we are going to do with Gaza after conquering it? How we are going to sustain 2 million very hostile people.

Each encounter ends with easing of blockade and each time they use this easing to only bring more and more weapons and build more terror iunfrastructure.

Thanks to the Iron Dome rockets are still lesser evil than the occupation of Gaza. I bet next time they are going to bring Fateh-110 into Gaza. So probably eventually they wont leave us a choice like it happened in 2002 in West Bank.

in a conflict where every dead kid probably means a birth of a "terrorist" aggrieved father, or you could flip it and say every dead father results in an angry kid willing to go avenge (maybe suicide bomb) his father's death against the "enemy" when he grows up...

so even if they kill most of the Hamas leadership and neutralize 99% of their offensive capability (rockets etc) this round

.. how long ? 3 years ? ..or maybe 5 or 6 ?? before the next Palestinian generation fires another salvo ..?

Then Israel will repeat it again,The Hamas belong to the stupid category and for using human shields.only stupid people believe in doing the same mistake over and over again and somehow expect it would be different.
The only way to deal with Israel is to sit down and talk, insurgency and guerilla war won't bring Israel to its knees when it has got 80+ nukes.
