Two SU-25 jets shot down over Ukraine

PRO-RUSSIAN rebels have shot down two Ukrainian fighter jets in eastern Ukraine just days after the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, a Ukrainian military spokesman said.

“Two Sukhoi Ukrainian fighter jets have been shot down. The fate of the pilots is not known,” spokesman Oleksiy Dmytrashkivsky said, adding the planes were brought down some 25 kilometres (16 miles) from the crash site of MH17.

But a second military spokesman said the jets had been downed at a different location by rockets fired by insurgents. The two pilots managed to parachute out, he said.

“Today in the south of the Lugansk region close to the village of Dmytrivka, pro-Russian fighters shot two Su-25 jets from a missile system,” spokesman Vladislav Seleznev said.

“The pilots took evasive action ... but the planes were hit,” he said.

The Sukhoi-25 fighters were shot down 1:30pm local time on Wednesday (7:30pm AEST) over an area called Savur Mogila.

Defence Ministry spokesman Oleksiy Dmitrashkovsky says the planes may have been carrying up to two crew members each.

That should seal any speculation of how MH17 came down . Most likely pro russian fighters mistook MH17 for fighter/recon plane .

Good radiance, shoot these maggots down, while these jets are bombarding and directing heavy artillery on mostly civilians.

It's not confirmed but there was a Su-25 flying 5 km behind the Malaysian Airlines at similar altitude. Hopefully Russia will provide the evidence soon.

These two jets were shot down with manpads. Manpads can't reach 10 km high.

What is more embarrassing is the fact that shortly after the Kiev Junta announced that they have intelligence where all the anti-air positions of the rebels are located and can now take them down one by one, the rebels shot down two jets of the Junta.

Su-25 is ground attack aircraft in Donbas they used unguided shells so flying low. Rebels shooting them down using MANPADS and they also have Strela-10. That is all. Operating "Buk" systems has only Ukrainian army.

Didn't the General Prosecutor of the Kiev Junta announce a few days ago that the rebels don't have any Buk systems at all? So, that leaves only the Russian and the Kiev Junta with this system. Yesterday, the US said that Russia is not directly involved in shooting down MH17. So, this only leaves one party to be able to murder almost 300 innocent civilians.

These two planes were certainly not shot down with Buk, otherwise that would have made the headline. Just think before you write. SU25 are ground attackers and they normally fly in low altitude to attack the ground.

These two planes were certainly not shot down with Buk, otherwise that would have made the headline. Just think before you write. SU25 are ground attackers and they normally fly in low altitude to attack the ground.

Pro Russians fighting near the Russian border capable of taking down military aircraft, its not exactly a farstretch to assume that a commercial airliner is out of reach, its more likely than a Ukrainian jet taking it down or a secret jew conspiracy.

It has been a strong possibility since the beginning. US propaganda was trying to put blame on Russia.

Unlikely, trained jet pilots (who know that dozens of other flights were passing that area) can distinguish between a military aircraft and a civilian airliner!

Yeah you are right, most likely some dumbass rebel saw the plane and immediately pressed the button

One of my theory is, MH17 got sacrificed for a barbaric agenda because the Junta is desperate in all aspects. Their military is disintegrating, they are broke and won't get money from the IMF unless they can get back East Ukraine where the core of the Ukraine industry lies.

MH17 got diverted to that area, that's why the Junta has confiscated the tower recording and has not released them. They even forbid to make a copy of it. Why? The second step of the scheme was to send a fighter jet following MH17 as close as possible, the rebels got signals that a Junta fighter is flying over their territory and the rest is history.

Good shooting boys. Ukrainian air force had 13 to 14 Su-25 ground attack jets at the beginning of the war. Lost at least 7. Now should be down to 6 left.

Ukraine is loosing it's round attack vehicle at an alarming rate and honestly those jets are built to stand man-pads .
wonder if the pilots even try to save the Jet after a hit .
