12 dead and 14 hurt in cross-border Afghan shelling in Chaman

And we shouldn't and quite frankly it should be paraded so that the anger subsides. Infact to infuriate we should give the captured areas civilians CNIC and count then in census.

Uhhhhhh, no thanks. We have enough Afghans as it is.

24news reporting 30 casualties on Afghan side.

It will solve this issue once and for all. :p :p

Anyhow I am interested in what our DGMO said. He said that border is not in the village near the ditch but between villages and the afghan DGMO agreed whereas before the conflict it was reported that the village was divided between afghan and pakistan.

Objective achieved hence the ceasefire ... JIT formation news buried after the attention of all media diverted to this.

Unfortunately Pakistan doesn't hold any weight bcos no1 in Pakistan gives a damn to any civilian lost we're divided as nation.
our arm forces which we fed by giving up our own share through basic necessities enjoys the highest level of life's But when it comes to protecting civilians from the bad guys haven't seen much work been done...
Pakistan army and the intelligence agencies have been involved with in Pakistan's politics always waiting for the opportunity to grab from both hands these folks and their focus hasn't been where it should be.thats why over and over again we come across situations like these.until unless the mindset with in the army changes somehow things doesn't look to sober down in near future

That's some serious negative thinking.. If it wasn't for our great Military we would still be having explosions left right n center. Your jelous of our Military's life style when they risk their life for people like you? Are you suggesting that it's Pak army fault that Ana decided to commit sucide by the hands of Pak army?

I can't believe you decide to bash the pride of Pakistan.

9 Pakistanis died today indiscriminately. Their lives are surely not so cheap that we write them off through one flag meeting between the two DGMOs. Afghanistan should pay now economically and with the bodies of their border forces. I am sure our forces have replied them strongly. Lets just await for more news.

Yaar when I was in Bajaur we also had a case like this, one day out of nowhere these Afghans crossed the border took two small border pickets, beat the guys manning them, set fire to their vehicles and said that it was their territory. Our Commandant simply turned the 155s at HQ towards the post and said, "pahar barabar kardo".

Within minutes the Americans called for a border flag meeting. They pulled out a GPS and said, this is inside Afghan territory according to the GPS. Our Commandant simply said that the Govt tells him where the boundary is, not some GPS, he said "if the govt tells me that our border is at Kabul, I will march on Kabul".

The Americans had called Coalition Air Support because the 155s were still aimed at the mountain. The Commandant told them he has instructed his men to fire at the 30th minute. Americans thought it was a bluff, at the 29th minute the guns started training on the post and the Americans instructed the Afghans to withdraw to their own position.

So as you can see, the border is often subject to question along the Durand Line from the Afghan side. Best thing to do is to just hold your own and show these guys who's boss.

They might already have Pak CNICs hence you witnessed the Afghan frustration.

BTW The main point here is that the two villages are divided between Pakistan and Afghanistan means some parts of these villages are in Afghanistan where Afghan forces have posts while some parts are in Pakistan where Pakistan have posts.

Now Pakistani government and Army had already officially informed the Afghan government and Army that we are conducting census in our parts of these villages but since Afghans are pissed as always over everything and they illegally fired upon the civilian census teams and civilians' houses in these Pakistani villages.

The most civilians or allow me to say that all civilians resides on Pakistani side or border however, ANA merely done it on behest of a well paid Chief to please the master/handler. There is nothing as to attack but firstly, provide a cover so that any asset can slip and, cause a skirmish to damage the repute as well as providing some headlines for propaganda news. Remember, the rival said, will reply us at the time & place of his choice so we must not forget and also, these types of attacks are needed sometimes for the political consumption and divert the focus from real issues as well.
