Niranjan Killed as SOP Did Not Include New Bomb Trap Technique: NSG

Nothing new but a statement so not to accept that they don't have any idea what happened in there. Biggest military, latest equipment, trained by FBI and still can't handle the grenade.

@MaarKhoor
4 or six attackers even numbers not confirmed till date, simple hand grenade explodes by trained senior colonel while defusing seriously pointed out lacks in training and experience. R.I.P to brave soldier died in line of duty but raises many question about training and latest equipment claims.

many in Pakistan army died because of IED. and that is why you ask MRAP from US as aid. Pakistan asked MRAP to counter an IED manufactured from a chemical used for manufacture of fertilizer... "ammonium nitrite".
you have no idea about IED... even US army's most casualties are due to simple IEDs.

Senior Pakistan army official, Lt Col Sajid( same rank of NSG commando Niranjan) on Wednesday died in the line of duty while defusing an Improvise Explosive Devise (IED) in Maidan area of Khyber Agency on Wednesday.

There is difference in IED and hand grenade.

:o::o::hitwall::hitwall:
IED is nothing but an improvised explosive.... even artillery shell can be used as IED.

a simple chemical used for manufacture of fertilizer killed Lt Col Sajid of pakistan army. this also point out the professionalism.

As per you logic, if I may say, grenade would be the cheapest in tech ied to handle that your army can't and the IED that PA faces is yet more complicated than that simple grenade that you haven't updated your SOP so wonder what if your army has to face what we do, how many SOP would be required. You must know the complexity built in an ied of grenade or advanced one. @MaarKhoor has clearly stated the difference which defines the usual and complex ied.

Defines how complex chemistry used for that IED however the NSG failed to handle a grenade that even our police squad handles better or atleast never been martyred while handling grenade until & unless there is a lack.

explosive material in an IED( grande) is more advanced and highly lethal than a country made IED made of ammoniam nitrite like the one killed pakistan army Lt. col. and the explosive used in grande(contains RDX and TNT)are more advance than ammonium nitrite. indian army faces more advance IED... mostly claymore mines supplied by pakistan army to the kashmiri terrorists. which are more advance than anything used by rebels such as BLA or TTP.
TTP and BLA using country made low tech IED.. just like Maoists in india. meantime well funded and trained terrorists groups such as LeT have military grade explosives supplied by Pakistan army.
NSG have well known counter IED schools which provide training to special forces soldiers from US, UK, Israel, and Russia. and the commando Niranjan was also trained in FBI counter IED training center.
so even an child with an average IQ can understand that if a highly trained soldier lost his life in a counter IED operations then that IED must be more advanced one. but in PDF pakistanis thinks that anything that kills a pakistan army soldier is more advanced.. even it is a country made IED, and if any indian soldier died then that because of lack of training... i can'r expect better from you guys.. :hitwall:

don't know if any pakistan army soldier died in handling an IED made of grande. but i am sure that a pakistan army soldier died in handling an IED made of country bomb.

I was expecting something realistic but I am sorry can't buy your beans especially when it is about which army faces how sophisticated IEDs to handle. Those were simple grenades, I am telling you one last time and rest is your own choice how to blind fold yourself to their negligence in Op. L9ng life for you with that brilliant IQ that an officer lost his life just because SOP wasn't updated means you haven't yet faced the real threats.

Your post totally lacks the reality check but yes full of obsession and anxiety. Do not quote further. Thnx

It is always a game of cat and mouse between bombers and counter-IED proffesionals, as the cheif has said- lessons will be learnt and SOPs revised, that is all you can do in such circumstances.
so are they finally planning to use remote-controlled robots to move a dead body??

IED is totally different from grenade and as per my best sources Indian Colonel killed by simple hand grenade probably HE 36 and the training the mentioned totally ridicule the event.
Specially trained bomb disposal expert.

so are they finally planning to use remote-controlled robots to move a dead body??
They have such robots but they can't be used for everything, there was a reason a bomb tech was working "hands on". There is the option to remotely detonate all explosives but clealry the perogative was to preserve evidence and destroying the bodies would have been counter productive for the investigation efforts.

Can't we use those mobile robot devices?? I am sure drdo and our universities can build such a machine

They can be fitted with a gun and cameras plus blinding lasers.

never knew that before.
any info on what else they are training us?
Hostage negotiation probably. NSG was planning to train some of its operators in Hostage negotiation. Every team will be equipped with one so that they can negotiate for release of hostage even after room intervention.

The issue was, Lt col Niranjan was wearing only a bullet proof jacket while sanitising the third terrorist's body. According to the older SOP only those who use the line and hook method need to wear bomb suit. Interestingly, the grenade didn't go off when it was first approached by the guy who was wearing bomb suit.
It was a tightly packed grenade in the ammunition pouch and ergo the chances of it going off were also high.
These are 'no risk high return' techniques used by terrorists. Our forces will need to go update themselves technologically to save more lives. We can not afford to loose such highly trained officers.

That's a stupid statement.
You better not mock our martyred officer.

No but you misunderstood nor anyone trying to mock any lost soul (avoid use of such word "Stupid" i hope you will understand). an officer lost his life just because lack of SOP that someone never thought to add in the journal.

Did you even understand how it happened??
Usually bomb disposal teams carry out some semi remote techniques to sanitise dead bodies. But this grenade was tightly attached to the dead body.

And I called your statement stupid because it was posted without cogitation, and it came across as a Flamebait.

You explain like you been there... however..... tightly attached to the dead body statement.... i did find anywhere in any statement though every person who holds a grenade is always like tightly attached so it is upto one who attempt to detach and dispose it..... critics were intended to the extent of training procedure and experience not over the dead body..... avoid assuming so much things in case of others that you do not know much about but a mindset of yours against Pak ....
