India has a much much bigger coast line so its natural that they will have a bigger navy

But as we are enemies our navy must be much more capable then the size of our coast line would suggest

So far from what i can fathom

We are due to receiveup to 8 subs (6 of obe kind, 2 of another) all will be AIP and I assume the 2 will be the basis of our second strike

That gives us 11 AIP subs 13 if you count the Augusta 70s

Recently there has been talk of more ships and frigates

Either wsy once Gwader is up and running a more substantial navy will be required to defend our extended sea zone against india

Increased focus on a array of anti ship missiles is also vital

I'm hearing about Chinese subs in PN for the last 4 years have you peple signed the deal yet??

Once the Port is in Operation it'll be chinese ships guarding it not PN.... port will be a big excuse fro the Chinese

We need at least 10 modern diesel electric submarine with VLS and equipped with AIP to put their anti ship corvettes out of service.

Okay got your points. Just anti-ship missiles, what else we have? What if India destroy our anti-ship batteries and some assets, they know it. What will we do next? counter thousand Brahmos Missiles?

Not easy my friend. :(

As of now PN doesn't have anything in its inventory to stop IN... those Anti-ship missile which was provided by China only will makes the different and potent.. But i don't think IN ship will get in its rang and if anything IAF and In's naval fighters will always go first to eliminate them then the naval ship would join

Thank you. Good to know i have fan's. lol

Agreed. But it grows a concern for Pakistan. India is our enemy you get nukes we were forced to get them. Same can be implied to arm's race. Both countries see each other as threat. Thus it's anything but 'good for Pakistan'.

See... its like a catch 22 situation for Pakistan. But trust me, you guys can't win this race as we ourselves are finding it difficult to keep up with China. Same goes for China trying to match the US.

OTOH, Pakistan should accept the reality and try to sort out differences while building up deterrence for Indian Navy. Same way as say tomorrow we are enemies with USA. But can we have an arms race with them ?

Yes, Pakistan has some few good 4-8 F-22P warships, some boats, and old submarines. India has been tremendous building very fast on their ships every year, is Pakistan always have zero warships, why we don't pay attention? o_O

Please don't discuss we are going to induct 8 Chinese new submarines soon.

Let's focus on what will Pakistan develop new own warships and projects plan aside from JF-17 and F-16 upgrading. Read below

Indian Navy aiming at 200-ship fleet by 2027

NEW DELHI: The Indian Navy is aiming to have a 200-ship fleet by 2027 as per a maritime capability perspective plan in order to guard interests and assets of the nation in waters around them, a top Naval officer said today.

The Navy, which has 137 ships and submarines under its command, has been at the forefront of indigenisation, and is also in "exploratory talks" with Russia to see if some of the ships can be built with their collaboration so as to "expedite" the process.

"There is a maritime capability perspective plan. As per that, there are certain number of ships that we have to build by a particular timeline. Today we have 137 ships and submarines... our aspiration is to become a 200-ship Navy (by 2027)," Vice Chief of Navy Vice Admiral P Murugesan told reporters here when asked about the force's aims.

On cooperation with Russia, he said the Navy was in talks for 3 Grigorivich-class frigates, an improved version of the six Talwar-class frigates the Navy obtained between 2003-13.

"As of now, it is only in exploratory domain. As and when decided, it will be under make in India," he clarified.

The Vice Chief noted that the road ahead is not easy as on an average for every 2-3 ships inducted, one from the existing lot retires due to age, and underlined that navies have to be maintained and they cannot be created overnight.

"It is a catch up game. It will take time and it will not be very easy. I would like to see 200 ships. Wherever our trade and interest are taking place, we should take care of our needs in those areas," he said adding that India does not need 1,000 ships for that.

Murugesan confirmed that a high-level committee of the Defence Ministry has submitted its report identifying shipyards capable of executing the about-Rs 60,000 crore project of building the next six conventional submarines under Project P75I. A Request for Proposal (RFP) would be issued soon in this regard.

He also mentioned that an RFP would also be issued for the procurement of two deep-sea rescue vessels.

Asked if the Navy will go in for additional Scorpene submarines apart from the six being built currently in Mumbai, he said the answer can only be guesswork at the moment as the Navy will have to look into the entire capacity, capability and other ongoing projects like P75I and the building of six nuclear submarines sanctioned early this year.

The officer said the six nuclear submarines to be built will be finished in lesser time than what other navies normally take.

Asked about the delay in procurement of torpedos and helicopters for the Navy, he said everything was under process.

He refused to comment on India's nuclear submarine Arihant, which is expected to undertake missile test later this year.

The Vice Chief also refrained from disclosing details about the Long Range Surface-to-Air Missile, the next generation Barak missile, saying it would be "proved" soon.

The missile, being built in collaboration with Israel, is set to be test fired from a ship soon.

Asked how the force was preparing against cyber attack, he said an elaborate organisation has been set up within the Navy to tackle the threat.

Must say I am very impressed.
Please don't feel depressed Sir........:-)......It is not as you are saying.....PN is also very much capable of protectecting its coastline.........Every country has some limitations and hence if IN is ahead in something(according to you :-) ) then you can also see that our IAF is struggling to get some new planes and maintain its strength.....I myself feel that it will be very much difficult for IAF to win a war against PAF seeing our current fleet strength.....Also India's defence budget is large which will obviously affect the purchasing power but you should be glad that even after having normal amount of defence budget , your country can do a lot more than other countries.....So just feel good and be happy.........:toast_sign:........:jester::jester::jester:

We are trying our best. It's a sad situation to see. But we must. Left with no choice.
OTOH, Pakistan should accept the reality and try to sort out differences while building up deterrence for Indian Navy. Same way as say tomorrow we are enemies with USA. But can we have an arms race with them ?
India is not very eager on talk's. To your leadership if they could the first thing they would do is launch an attack on Pakistan. Sad reality. General public want's peace, but who listens to us masses, right?

otoh your leaders want to nuke us like if it was a toy to play with.

Guys..The op has valid concerns...but there's nothing as far as solution goes...the Indian naval air arm with its 233 odd aircrafts is bigger than most air forces by itself...not to forget...nuke subs (the ultimate bad boys), floating air squadrons aka aircraft carriers, 12-30 AEWAC's, kick *** destroyers...plenty more to come. The ultimate nuclear triad with slcms and slbms about to be inducted.

A acc carrier group costs 10-15 billion to induct and billions to operate..not to mention years of investments to come up.

The IN is transforming into a beast. But there's still much much more to do.

Geopolitics of the oceans are fast transforming - the USN, IN, JMSDF and the Australian navy will together form a formidable quartet.

indians talking about procurement time is almost obscene (see lca, arjunk and others )

The deal is advancing fine:pakistan::china:

Pakistan ships will protect Gwader china as our ally will also get access

Both countries. Pakistan and India. Referring to peace as in no future conflict.
PS: Not stating that we are looking for a war. Impression given is wrong.
both countries are democracy and govts reflect will of the people. India does not like talks because we have to give up something.
If you start talks about balochistan for example, am sure India will not be averse to it. We got nothing to lose.
Having said that, govt of India, even the hindutva party one, will not start conflict if they can avoid. Its only dictators like Indira Gandhi you should watch out for.
