The news about Armenian reaction to the Starbucks poster - about women in traditional clothing under the Turkish Crescent and Star – has spread both in Turkey and abroad. Since writing my comment on this issue,https://d.docs.live.net/b380002fec2...o Ignorant Anti-Turkish Propaganda.docx#_edn1 I have come across some additional information.

According to a piece of news by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty,[ii] Tim Carl Rose – the person responsible for the photo in the poster – has stated that the photo was taken in 2011 at a festival celebrating Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Turkey. In a related news in the Guardian,[iii] Rose personally wrote comments[iv] and explained that the photo was taken in Istanbul on 2011 at a folklore dance competition, and that the women depicted in the photo were indeed Turkish. He also stated that the poster was adorned around cafés for three years prior to this incident.

Yet Rose has still apologized and has taken off the photo from his website, and explained he did so “once it came to [his] attention that [the photo] was rightfully offensive to the Armenian community”.[v]

According the Rose himself, this photo has nothing to with the Armenian people, save for the fact that Armenians too have similar traditional costumes depicted in the photo.

In this respect, it is completely illogical for both Rose and Starbucks to apologize to people of Armenian descent due to this poster. There is nothing inherently offensive about this poster, and as such, there are no grounds for an apology. It can be construed that Rose came under pressure to take such an action.

As stated in my previous commentary, if Starbucks is to apologize, it should be to the Turkish people (especially to people of Turkish descent living in the US) for succumbing to such biased and ignorant propaganda.
STARBUCKS SUCCUMBS TO IGNORANT ANTI-TURKISH PROPAGANDA - II

About time Turkish communities abroad start seriously (counter) lobbying as well?
I don't know why we don't have any lobbying power in abroad ???

Or you see Solomon2, he posts zionist propaganda stuff all over the net. Why we don't do it also ?

because, in my opinion, we, as Turks, really are a people who needs a leader/structural organization in order to stand up and get something done as an unity. And also, i noticed, we are a people/nation that needs to hit its head a few times before setting something straight. It's really mind-boggling when you realize that there are so many Turkish communities worldwide (and often in big numbers), yet small ones like Greeks, Armenians and Israeli are doing waaay better than us.
I think the main reason is because there is a lack of influential Turkish politicians and businessmen in such abroad communities, or they exist but are not vocal/active in lobbying. Maybe you and me think too easily, but something must be done to counter this.

We should also remember that Armenian Christian lobbying is more effective than Turkish Muslim lobbying. The west is still majority Christian Judeo culture. Their lobbying will be more effective than ours.
Let the dogs bark,who cares.
We should care. Starbucks caved into armenian pressure.

I think it has to do more with the sense of unity, which is really lacking at our people. If we look at our competition we see that their people for the majority are under the same perspective, while the Turks in general are just bickering with each other of what perspective what ideology etcetera. At this isn't only in Turkey, but specially in the European countries we see that the Turkish communities are very fragmented.

edit:
When coming to vocal expression there is always some sort of unity. But in practice.... Nada

edit 2:
And when they do manage to assemble a lot Turkish people at one place...... The entire event gets ruined because of the lack of any kind of organization.

We should be threatening to close all Starbucks Coffee places in Turkiye.
They wouldnt want to lose Turkiye.

What the actual f*ck. Lmao our existence offends Armenians apparently.

Nothing compared to how our exisistence offends the Jews...anytime we create organizations to fund projects at home and abroad Jews file terrorism cases against us and use intimidation to every institute that sponsors BDS or even mentions Palestinian national identity.

What if.... No Turk went to buy Coffee at starbucks, but hell it will probably fail since pleasure is more important than ideals.
I was already doing it.

Kahve Dünyası instead of Starbucks
Pizza Pizza instead of Dominos Pizza.

If they can give a similar quality, i always choose Turkish firms instead of foreign firms.

When i was in primary school, there was "Yerli Malı Haftası" in english "Indigenous Product Week". Not sure if our people still celebrating it.

Just don't go to Starbucks tell everyone not to go there and they will cost the price and see who is more important

I don't know why anyone goes to that Jewish shithole called 'starbucks'. Their coffee is pure garbage. Men go to Tim Hortons or Dunkin Donuts. All Arabs should boycott Starbucks, but unfortunately Arab kids in the United States are brainwashed by literally semesters of so called 'English' courses which actually consist of Holocaust 'studies' brainwashing children in middle school that Jews live in 'Israel' because of that. And that they want special priveleges in West.

Jews have dictatorial powers in the West. They exploit every loophole to benefit their pockets through 'anti-terror cases'. Problem is the Muslim community here is a coward community. If I ever had Jews take me or my organization(if I had one in future) to court, I'd **** the day they ever thought of living here. You fight terror with terror, you fight dirtiness with dirtiness, you fight criminals with justice. The world people need to stop giving exceptions to this so called 'small tribe' which is actually very populous.
