I understand that per capita GDP makes a lot of sense, but isnt sport about who's THE BEST, where does this socialistic idea of 'per capita' come in sports where what matters is who wins at the end of the day within the rules of the sport ?

Sri Lanka has a history in this.

Their only olympic medal came in 200 meters running. A silver won by female athelete Susanthika Jayasinghe in Sydeny 2000.

Ironically Susantika never participated in SAF games.

Not at last, but after a long time.

Hope this gives a boost to the players.

Its quite ironic that countries like Nepal, Sri Lanka and Pakistan could not even qualify for the semi's.

Nepal and Lanka has loads of talent when it comes to Football.

Afghanistan has shown its potential and I see a bright future for them

Not sure what team India sent to SAF games as they couldnot even won a Bronze.

Basterds first lost to Afghanistan in league match, then lost to BD in semi's and then to Maldives in Bronze medal match.

Can't believe this is the same Indian Football who won SAFF Cup in 2009 with their U-23 team.
