Samsung News and Updates

When the TPP come into force, VietNam will no longer depend on components imported from China.

Currently under international law, the UNCLOS that both VietNam and China are both signatories to, the territory that VietNam is drilling it's oil is not regarded as stolen territory.

If China want UNCLOS to recognise it as stolen Chinese territory, China must first file a dispute to the UNCLOS and win it's case.

hehehehe
ya, after TPP, viets could import those components from US.

we have our own intepretion of UNCLOS, not a big deal.

In another investment of 2 bln, Samsung also build the plant for display of smartphone in Thai Nguyen, Vietnam.

Much of Chinese phone profits flow to Taiwanese, US, Japanese too.

I have a serious question Boq77. Samsung is aware of the TTP agreement, so where are they planning to get their components after TTP come into force?

No. Under UNCLOS law, if there is a disagreement, a third party panel will make the interpretation and issue their final judgment.

This is what China has already agreed to. US did not agree to this because they have the mind of a superpower.

Samsung didn't come alone to Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen.
There're many Korean and other come along.
Similar to any industrial parks invested by Japanese companies - hundreds in quantity.

I, myself, sometimes contacted by Chinese traders who search the chance to provide Samsung satellite companies by Chinese components. But now it's over, Vietnam authority start to control carefully imports from China, especially contraband.
-----------
China may hate TPP, but Chinese, Taiwanese, Hongkong businessmen chosen Vietnam as the new destination for their ongoing investments to make textile from yarn.

Just google it, and you could find the truth as I said.

we just cut off their components supply, viets will cry again.

1/3 of vietnam's gdp comes from stolen oil in SCS. As oil price plummet, viets now are crying already nation-wide.
cut off the supply chain? do you want to make chinese workers jobless?
by the way, you should not mention SCS in any thread. I wonder where do you get the figure of 1/3 from?

No, we will import components and other stuffs only based on price, quality and availbability. today, China is the best source and will remain even after we join TPP, I guess. things are not directly related together. If India can deliver what we need, we do source from India as well. when VN prime minister visited India recently, he has asked Modi what India can offer regarding to raw materials for making garments.

vietnam is at the begin of building up a domestic supply chain. in some years, more money will remain in the country.
I think China was 10 years ago of much difference, wasn´t it?
