Saudi Arabia beheads Pakistani for smuggling heroin

You do realize that Saudi Arabians themselves are living in compounds? There is not more "fun and party" there than anywhere else in KSA where there is no presence of the law and people who want that to happen. You only have to go to a secluded place (plenty of those in KSA) whether mountains, beaches, steppes, deserts, valleys and you are left alone. Practically able to do everything. But I doubt that you have Westerners or anyone else conducting huge drug operations in compounds across KSA. That would be very stupid.

British man sentenced to death in UAE for selling marijuana - Telegraph

British teacher Andrew Cannon faces beheading for friend's death in Saudi Arabia | Daily Mail Online

The only reason why the Western countries can put more pressure is because they seem to care more about their citizens and have more resources and a bigger weight than poor countries. The same happens with GCC citizens everywhere. Countries such as Iraq are even extraditing Saudi Arabian criminals to KSA under the request of KSA although they could easily have executed them in Iraq like they do with others.

I don't recall any Saudi Arabian ever jailed for longer than a few years in any Western country. Outside the US.

I´m not saying huge drug business. I know collegues who were send to saudi arabia and told me you can do anything you want there. Party with hot girls. Not all saudi girls are very "religous". I think you know as much as i do that there are some "sex bombs" under the hijab ;P

I only know UAE from personal visits there and it gets pretty wild there.

As for your links, we both know this game. A westerner gets caught for a crime...sentenced to death and then it sinks into silence and he is released.

As for drug operations...i can assure you that most drug operations regarding Cocaine are operated and managed from the italian mafia. But no italian would ever do transport that himself. Usually poor 3rd worlders are used for this.

You have the rich italian mafia boss doing business with a rich saudi guy. The dirty work is done from some poor guys...98% of business wents on smoothly and if one contract gets busted the drug mule gets sacrificed.

Is the drug problem not quite huge in Pakistan? I know that it is enormous in nearby Afghanistan and Iran and last time I checked all 3 countries also put people to death for smuggling lethal drugs in huge amounts. Or are those laws just there but not really enforced? Just asking.

It's quite huge. In khyber pakhtunkhwa province for example, we have drug selling hotels all over the rural areas. The fact that marijuana plant is a natural weed in Pakistan doesn't help much either. Like if I stop mowing the lawn in my Pakistani home for example, it would get covered with marijuana plants within months.

And yes in Pakistan there is a major problem with heroine and low quality cocaine, but as another poster mentioned, major politicians themselves are involved in the drug selling business. The whole police system is broken too. Like all the police stations literally take orders from the local politicians. Politicians can easily get "rebellious" police officers transferred or suspended. Typical developing world problems.

I dont think you can scare terrorists by beheading them.

I think it can... Their leaders tend to be huge cowards btw. Like the Pakistani Taliban leader, Fazlullah's wives and children are under government's custody but he didn't turn himself in. Shows what a coward and shameless person he is. Like how can he live with his conscience knowing that some unruly government employees might have raped or tortured his wife and family.

He was dealing drugs while entering a country which tells you they will cut off your head for dealing drugs when you enter, nothing to talk about.
But when terrorists like Afzal Guru is hanged many Pakistanis will cry foul.

Of course not all Saudi Arabian women or let alone persons are religious. Not all are even Muslims. Those who are Muslims are not always observing Muslims just like you have millions of Catholics whose observance of the religion differs greatly.

I know that Saudi Arabian women are going to the UAE and other nearby GCC countries to party. I know that some have sex before marriage. I know that the 80.000 Saudi Arabian female students abroad are not all observing Muslims and also engage in what their peers do in for instance the US, UK etc. Let alone the men. We all know that. It's utopia to think otherwise. We are all sinners and I am not the judge. I can just state my opinion as a private individual. For instance I find it very disturbing when 10-12 year old girls in the West are dressed as 20 year olds with very revealing clothing and I find it repulsive that very young girls have had sex with several strangers from a very young age. This is against my religion, values etc. While others don't care and that's fine.

Yes, that's what I explained when I wrote that certain countries do more for their citizens and have a bigger clout. It's the same in the GCC. It's because of influence. People with money and political clout always have better possibilities of escaping than those that don't. It's the same everywhere. A rich German will afford to hire the best lawyer while the poor one is limited and this can often mean that he gets a much harsher sentence. We see this especially in the US where it is also racial and social hence why the jails there are overrepresented when it comes to Blacks, Latinos etc.

I am not denying that GCC citizens have many more opportunities in that department than a Belarusian or Mexican. Likewise the French will have a bigger clout than the Malaysian. The world is unfair we all know this. Always was and will be.

I don't know who controls the drug trade but it is probably international cartels. The Arabian Peninsula borders several big markets (Europe, Africa, remaining Asia) so it slowly becoming a bigger and bigger transit area for drugs and sometimes also a consumer place depending on the drug.

Drugs are horrible. In the West many think that it's just some pills and you are not forced to take it but once a relative dies from an overdose given by her by some drug pusher at a nightclub you would like to wish hell upon those that who were behind it.

Thanks for the information. Qat is also a natural drug in Yemen and parts of Horn of Africa. It's rather harmless although addicting compared to heroin but still a problem as those plants need a hell lot of water and they must be grown in the mountains. Instead the locals could plant coffee, tropical fruits, vegetables etc. but there is not that much money in this business.

It's the same with the opium trade in Afghanistan, sadly. Heroin is horrible. Just look at Iran, Russia and Afghanistan.

Well whenever there is money to be made there will be powerful people around. I remember that a Saudi Arabian prince (there are at least 3000 Saudi Arabian princes that have direct or indirect influence in the decision making) was caught smuggling drugs etc. I don't really know much about the case and what happened afterwards. I think he did it in the US and they wanted him extradited but KSA refused. Not sure if he got punished. If everything happened 100% justly he should have been executed too.

How come we don't behead arab takfiri terrorists like bin laden, why do we give them luxurious compounds while they execute our citizens?

I personal would never consume drugs and i know nobody in my family who does. I think the problem is generated because it is illegal. If it would be legal, the cartels would simply die off. I think soft drugs like cannabis should be made legal as well as cocaine. The worst drug at all, cigarettes are legal, so this is inconsequent.

No problem man. And yes agreed. Hashish marijuana is not that bad. Like it helps calm down people. I have never seen a marijuana addict of a violent disposition lol. It can help some naturally chaotic people to not be a danger to the society. It's the low quality cocaine and heroine which are major problems.

And this drug induced drink called "bhang" is quite popular in Pakistan.

And yes big names are involved in international drug trade. Even CIA is said to be involved in it, lol. It's the lower ranking members who get punished mostly I guess.

Bin Laden who was half Yemeni and half Syrian had until his death in Pakistan been stateless since 1994. A criminal is a criminal. Do you see Arabs complaining when some Arab criminals are killed in Pakistan? Have you guys never executed an Arab? There are 450-500 million of us nowadays. Surely there must have been a few cases.

You should have killed bin Laden the first time you got the opportunity. Nobody would have cried for him outside of clowns. I for once am very happy that those few thousand Arab terrorists from across the world are dying right now in Syria and Iraq. They are doing much more harm to us Arabs than anyone else. We are their biggest victims and their victims are mostly Arabs. Not others. I don't care if they are Arabs just like I hopefully don't think that you care much about criminal Pakistani terrorists which are also in abundance.

Do you cry for Khalid Sheikh Muhammad? He is of Pakistani (Baluch origin) but just born in Kuwait.

I don't think so. If an Arab is stupid enough to smuggle heroin into Pakistan, Singapore, China etc. (which has a death sentence for drug smuggling) you won't see me crying.

Cannabis/Hashish yes (this has also been a traditional drug in the Arab and Muslim world and actually among most humans or at least many from what I recall - qat has a similar effect) but cocaine is dangerous. You can easily die from an overdose. Do you know what they use to manufacture cocaine? It's disturbing. If you knew the chemicals they use you would never even think about taking it. It's also difficult in such debates. Whether to legalize it or not. As of now only Netherlands seem to have a liberal law in Europe but they are even starting to clamp down on hard drugs. They only allow rather "harmless" soft drugs.

I am completely against any drugs because I feel that once you have said a or b you will say c, d, or e. But at the same time I am not preventing anyone from injecting heroin, crocodile or other drugs. Being a chemical engineer myself (student) I know the effects of drugs so I keep a long distance. Besides the people that are part of the drug trade are hardly nice/interesting people either.

I am not crying that a Pakistani criminal was executed. I am only stating a fact that some people in our establishment have a soft spot for terrorists of arab origin. Perhaps my comment was off topic.

Ok, so how many Arab terrorist are currently in Pakistan right now? I don't think that there are even more than 200 of them but I am by no means any expert on this. Someone give me reliable data on this topic.

Cannabis/marijuana/qat or medicine that contain elements that make up those 3 drugs are also used in the Arab world as prescribed medicine. Mostly as a painkiller. Some people also use herbs/plants etc. that have similar effects as a substitute. Especially before modern medicine was invented and commercialized.

I once read that some of us humans (apparently those outside of Sub-Saharan Africa) have an inherited (genetic) high tolerance level of cannabis due to the common use of that drug by our ancestors as a painkiller etc. I think that this was especially prevalent among native populations. I wish I could find that article somewhere. This might partially explain why certain people have a higher or lower tolerance level for the exact same quantity of cannabis.

Time to get a bit of sleep.

The laws in KSA are crystal clear about drugs. This clown took the risk and paid the ultimate price. There is zero tolerance which is excellent. Heroin is one of the most dangerous drugs out there that can easily kill consumers and heroin is highly addicting. This filth has no place in KSA.

Beheadings in KSA are done by swords and last less than 1 second. They are painless, quick, swift, cheap and Islamic. Nice comparison though. Like we give a pfuck.

Dear Saudi Arabia,

Please send 100 swordsman to the US to help us deal with our drug offenders.

Thank you,

Why? You guys got lethal injections, electric chairs, gas chambers and occasionally firing squads and I think that hangings are also an option.

KSA lacks swordsmen. Mostly it's not really a job that many want and it is hereditary and often held by Afro-Arabs.

In Saudi Arabia, Lack of Swordsmen May Lead to End of Beheadings | TIME.com

Interviewed by KSA TV;

I know that "Islamic" extremists have given beheadings a very bad reputation but they are beheading people with pocket knifes or small knifes. In KSA we use swords that can cut you in a half in a matter of 0,5 seconds with one swing.;)

In that short reportage (quite old by now) you will see the types of swords used.
