What's new

China's navy no longer so inferior to Japan's, experts say

Okay, how many destroyers currently China have now? Just 24?

As in a recent report, I heard that quantity of submarine NK has larger than USA,
China could build some more submarine to overpass what USA has and become No. 2 of most sub owner.
1. NK
2. China
3. USA
...
Is it funny ?
----------
For Aegis destroyers, in case Japan feel their building so slow, ... USA assigned some more to assist them as a unique system... because the meaning of Aegis system like that ...

In regards to North Korea, it is part of their military doctrine: Assymetrical Submarine Warfare Doctrine.

I will skip those old destroyers.

If only take those Aegis-like into account, then 10 destroyers, and half of them are waiting to be commissioned.

China is hard working to find out what is better by building so many "old" ( actually not so old ) destroyers, operate few years and improve them in next version ... that's why so many destroyers built.

We need to study.

Building a warship is not a easy job.

I don't think that's accurate numbers on NK submarines. We should be careful regarding Western propagandas on many countries.

Vietnam should work with China to grow business together instead harassing each other, get it?

The US flew bombers through that AIDZ like it was swiss cheese. All China could do was watch. I don't know if I'd call that a moderate response. It would be a mistake to underestimate US will when our key allies are threatened.

US flew 2 unarmed B52 bombers at the edge of ADIZ. It would have been more ballsy if US flown 2 armed B52 bombers. But of course your leaders are not that stupid to start a possible conflict over something the Japanese and Koreans have declared in the past.

This is nothing but US showing a minor symbolic gesture to Japan that "yeah, we re with you"

Ultimately every US and international flights flying in that zone need to provide flight details to Chinese officials ahead of time.

The US still has Canada, they could move their people into, then maybe Canada could become a new western superpower after several decades, lol.
LOL. With those *** kissing, incapable-***-clown leaders, that's impossible. Since you live in Canada, you must know about Toronto's crack smoking mayor?

@xunzi to illustrate how incompetant Canadian politicians are, in 1986 they talked and planned to build subways across Toronto and into the smaller suburbs. WEll, it's 2014 and they might build subways/ or might not. Meanwhile, China has become the 2nd biggest economy since 1986.
Bunch of corrupt *** clowns.

That's the Pk choice. We respect that, and won't try to persuade PK to work with Western instead of that

Type 052D has 2. Our plan is to build 2 per year. By 2020, we will have at least 12.

Type 052D is just a big ship,

  • Informally, the Chinese navy and media refer to their phased-array radar air-defense destroyers as Aegis destroyers. Outside foreign observers retain the usage of 'Aegis' only for the brand-name Aegis-equipped classes (a usage important because the Aegis system allows data-sharing between ships—a ship can fire on a target detected by another friendly ship), but Chinese military usage does have some precedent—the dreadnought which was first a single ship in one navy and then eventually a description for a class of warship in general.

Personally I am not a fan of any of this surface warships. They are good looking and powerful but in conflict, they are just sitting duck for our missiles and torpedo. This goes to our warships from the US threat as well. The real war on the sea is submarine. This is the real killer. This is why all major powers got nuclear submarine. The big bad boys that can sink any surface warships or hard to defend against. Luckily for us, we have made major breakthrough in submarines. Our focus currently is developing a potent Anti-Submarine network.

I heard that Chinese subs are immature ... and not going where far from their harbour.
1st. rank USA
2nd. Russia
3rd Germany
4th. Japan

LOL You are a noob when it comes to military tech comparison. In term of Submarine Force,

1. USA
2. Russia for potent Akula II Class however if China caught up and deploy Type 096 SSBN and deploy 15 of Type 095 Nuclear Powered Sub, we can leapfrog Russia.
3. China
4. Britain
5. France
6. Germany
7. Japan
8. South Korea.

Japan is last because she has very limited submarine variety. The top 3 have variety of conventionally AIPs, Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarines, and nuclear powered subs.

xunzi, you always weight the power in paper only.

what happen to your Type 094?
