Indian Navy point-blank refuses Chinese navy chief’s request

Go ahead and report me, or give me a negavtive rating yourself, since you have now been given that power. I don't really care. You are simply settling scores because our previous enchange was unpleasant; anybody can see that my post was really not intended with malice. In trying to unnecessarily pick on me, you encouraged that other person who actually was trolling with insidious intent (speaking as if Somalians are the lowest creatures of all) and insulting Indians as well as Somalians for no reason.

Like I said, I won't report you, and I won't give you a negative rating either.

But maybe ask yourself why people who were not even of East Asian descent were complaining about your post.

My opinion is that I didn't like that post, you can take it or leave it, no concern to me.

Talk to the hand Brownie !

Wait did I say that out-loud, I meant 'bake me a Brownie' with your own hands my friend ! :ashamed:

Khair jokes aside, Black is beautiful ! :)

Wait, you still aren't full yet, after gorging on all those sandwiches? But for your surreptitiously racist post, I've decided to feed you a roll of Casu marzu.

Black need not be beautiful to everyone, but if only those who didn't like it kept their opinions to themselves.:drag:

Maybe because they failed to realize it was meta-humour, a joke about jokes, a pointer as to how @JonAsad 's wording played into the common stereotype. Another possibility could be that they themselves were eagerly waiting to make racist remarks against Indians, and jumped at the opportunity. Or because they got satisfaction in calling others names and complaining to the webmaster just to feel good about themselves. I have seen all the three behaviour so far, from three different posters.

(Even if my post was an intentional insult, which it clearly wasn't, it would be far milder than the racist venom that is spewed all over the forum everyday. @Donatello 's display of pious outrage is really amusing and questionable, given that fact.)

My last word. Let the manufactured outrage and sanctimonious cant flow.

Actually Chinese media speaks highly of the ship, it's a very potent ship, stealthy with lots of mature weapons, but for a few things.
Is there any way you could provide a link to such Chinese media reports, i would be very intrigued as to what they have to say about the Shivlaik.

Too many weapons jammed into the ship, while operationally it's very potent, for crew comfort it leaves something to be desired.

For a military vessel can you ever have "too many weapons" ?

As for crew comfort:

You could do worse ;)

Americans have found long voyages, the crew needs to be happy for them to be effective, hence weapons on Chinese and American ships are almost always way less than our Russian brothers.

It's not a Russian designed or made ship but Indian and, if anything, the IN designs their vessels more from a Western design perspective.

dont you think you are over reacting now!! do not derail the thread just because you cant digest a simple joke!

If he really want to insult you, he could have done that right on your face. There after it doesnt matter if you would have reported that or gave negative rating!

move on!!

If you say it was not your intention, then it wasn't your intention.

I see a lot of people here making racist comments but disguising them as jokes to avoid infractions.

If you say that's not the case here then I'll take your word for it. I didn't take you as a racist hence my surprise at that comment.

Hmm, I wonder what the protocol of being able to see the CIC of a US warship/carrier is regarding situations similar to this one.

Could have done strip search, cavity search and then may be could have allowed them. :smokin:

Let me see it bro. :D

I myself don't have any kind of clearance for any ship lol Would absolutely love to see the inner workings of the new mighty USS Gerald R. Ford carrier though :D

What do you think............:closed:

I think in many situations, no. In some, maybe. Highly depended what specifically the visiting rep wanted to see.

In the US military, even the lowest ranked sentry can and has to bar anybody of any rank from entering the premise he is in charge of, if that is his order. General order number 1 says:

. To take charge of this post and all government property in view.
When you are a sentry, you are "in charge." This means that no one—no matter what their rank or position—may overrule your authority in carrying out your orders. The only way that you may be exempted from carrying out your orders is if your orders are changed by your superior. For example, if your orders are to allow no one to enter a fenced-in compound, you must prevent everyone from entering, even if an admiral tells you it is all right for him or her to enter. The petty officer of the watch (or whoever is your immediate superior) may modify your orders to allow the admiral to enter, but without that authorization you must keep the admiral out. Situations such as this will not often, if ever, occur, but it is important that you understand the principles involved. It is also your responsibility to know the limits of your post. This information will be conveyed to you among your special orders. You must also treat all government property that you can see as though it were your own, even if it is not technically part of your assigned post.[1]

In this case, the captain of the ship had orders not to let anybody into the CIC while at harbour. In the USN, he would have been duty bound to prevent even a US admiral from entering, if that's what his orders are.
