jandk you generalist, whaddya say now?

nova2, that was the most amazing comeback post I've seen to generalist's like jandk. Smashing job!

My 2 cents says India's well on it's way with it's infra 101 roll-out, it should now sincerely focus on phase 2 of the infra. build-out.

Building a Private-Public (read private) metro system, Gurgaon, India.
- I consider such initiatives India's Infra 101 roll-out.
  • The choke points of India's infra are mitigating. Mega airports, ports, electricity, steel, canals, road, rail and mining are among the most-of-the-most in the world. I say some are even over the top like Mumbai airport.
I like the double-decker long haul, mega passenger trains. BRT's are catching on, I like that. Both are local rolling stock :) !
  • The industrial corridors, river linking and mega broadband projects are easy, easy to fund and cash rich over time. For eg. Mumbai MMR and Delhi NCT ongoing satellite towns were all doom-&-gloom yet turned into poster towns for India's development as well as a cash fountain for respective implementation agencies. Unknown, far away and un-intended Hiranandani Powai even showed up at the Oscar's via Slumdog Millionare!
New Bombay by CIDCO came up during India's days of yahoo socialism with no money.
Imagine what the future holds with top Global funds pumping into India's next stage infra. like the $ 100 Billion, Japan standards, Japani quality, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

For totally un-related and unaccountable reasons, I saw this pic

and drifted off to 70-80's Bollywood. Internet logic at work. Bollywood star galaxy came to mind. Rajesh Khanna, Amitabh, Yusuf Dilip Kumar Khan, Raj Kapoor from a gen. ago too.

Long story short, SRK has delivered about a dozen ... hold on ... $ Billion hits. 1 man industry! Dozen more stars, and they keep making them. Bollywood mega- Factory churns out 1 man industries. like SRK worth Pak. Rs. 1020 Cr.'s; as I keep saying, a $ goes some 10-25 times far in India, even farther in Pakistan. Just 1 SRK is
  • Rs. 10 x 1020 to 25 x 1020 = Rs. 10200 to 25500 Cr.'s :woot: min.
Amir, Salman, Akshay, Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Karishma, Abhishek, and others consistently deliver $ mega million, even $ Billion Bollywood hits. Then the endorsements, ads, appearances.

Conclusion:
  • Indians should thank Pakistan for 'exporting' artistic talent.
Indians should be grateful for the $ mega Lahori talent infusion.
The Bollywood star galaxy of today is all grown up and something else.
After Bombay High, Bollywood, Beaches and Bi*ches, Mumbai gets another slick item:

That's what happens when you hire a Dubai-based design firm.

and Royda, do you happen to have some sort of a filter or translator using which I can make sense out of what Patentneer bhai regularly posts here?

I thought it was designed and constructed by L&T? I am talking bout the palm trees on the elevated road, looks hideous. Don't mind them on the ground level.

An lol patentneer is a harmless guy, I usually just skip his posts though.

That was just a stupid joke to account for those stupid Palms. Ignore it.

I always get the feeling that Patentneer is trying to convey something profound, but that I'm still not ready yet to receive his Gyan.

Indischer, S. Asia is all about India Vs. Pak.
  1. India was to Balkanize. And the Indian economy slithered into the 'Indischer' rate of growth.
  2. Pakistan was to end up like Germany. Pak started off with robust economic propulsion and growth rates.
If one sees this thread through said filters, Palm trees on on flyovers, like lipstick on a pig, no matter.

Profound? You'll get there, give it time. For eg. 10 yrs. ago Germany had among the best large airports in the world and in the meantime the Indians have also bridged the gap, n'est pas. And not too shabby either. Some of us are still rubbing our eyes because contextually speaking, German airports Vs. India's airports; it was not meant to be. Mega airports are a big deal, they are among the most complex systems projects today.

What happens when the other itsy-bitsy and even larger parts catch up. Or exceed Global standards. Think of the consequences.

LOL sure, except that in this case, the SEAR flyover/expressway system ain't no pig. I've used it, and I've got to say - the finished product is beautiful, both aesthetically, and functionally.
